Gee Wiz, I just don't it, I mean where do some of these people get it?

I have prettey much decided that winning the blogging for proggress scholarship is out of my reach.

Why? Because of Super Bloggers.

I have noticed that there are kids who spend several hours a day on the progressive sight, simply posting blog after blog after blog. Last night, a single user posted a blog every hour for more than 10 hours...thats pretty intense. Are there people who really have that much to say in this world?

I guess all I saying is, that when I am sitting around talking with my friends, and a little thought pops into the back of my mind and I think "I should share this with the progressive community" that I will write it down so I remember it for later so that I too can become an UBER POSTER!(although, I am not planning on doing that whole stay on the computer when I should be sleeping thing)

"Super Bloggers" are annoying because a lot of them just repost news articles and give a very brief opinion on them, or they say "You should read this" and post a news story.

I suppose that some people(no matter what age) do simply post anything that comes to mind, and do that frequently. Then there are others that actually think of interesting, progressive ideas, who post frequently. You will find some news articles are of an important nature, which some of us post with a brief opinion, or to alert other readers, and to encourage discussion. I could certainly use a $1,000 scholarship, no doubt about that. However, just as important is the fact that I am encouraged to keep abreast of all the many issues which affect people around the globe. Another important factor at ProgressiveU is that we have a chance to form our own opinion, and ProgressiveU gives a platform to express ourselves, and to make our voices heard.

Yea I feel you on this. Sometimes it does seem like winning anything out of this is a little out of reach. There are so many of us going after the same thing. The only I can say is that I'm just going to keep trying and if I don't win then atleast I had fun doing it.

I'm quite annoyed by such posters. Not only is it unfair because they end up getting who knows how many points for all their posts, reads, and comments received, but it gives other users extra work by forcing them to go through ten pages of updated blogs.

I love Mencken. But anyway, I agree with what most of you are saying. Now, I'm trying to be a Super Blogger myself, because I'd really like to win that scholarship. But see, I'm one of those peope is sincerely trying to make my blogs "blogworthy", because I'm not about to earn a scholarship for spending a month posting nonsense all day every day. There are easier, less boring ways to earn that money (You could spend 10 hours a day at McDonalds for the next month instead of on this site, and you'd make more than $1000). I want my writing to get better, and I want to think more and I enjoy hearing other people's opinions, and debating and all that. So yeah, I probably won't win since I'm not interested in cheating the system. But, if I did, I'm sure I'd feel like 90 million times better about it than the Super Bloggers....because how cool would that be, to actually win $1000 for being a cool and popular writer? So write on, fellow Not-Super Bloggers, let's make this interesting for each other.

I must say: I'm ecstatic that someone knows Mencken. Most people I know ask, "H. L. who?"

"Men become civilized, not in proportion to their willingness to believe, but in proportion to their readiness to doubt."

"Freedom of press is limited to those who own one."

the average salary for a McDonalds worker, is just $1 over min wage at 6:50, and overtime is not an option(usually) so at 40hrs a week(after breaks) you only end up with 240 a week(or 960 amonth) and that is before taxes take away about 100 bucks for pay period(a single person who is the head of their household) and you end up with little over 750 so really this is ALOT different from working

If we think about the content of our blogs, we also get the really good benefit of exercise...of our mind!
