Up Up and Away

Darn these high gas prices. Well I really dont have to worry about gas that much because I have no car. But what in the world is are these gas prices doing to our economy? I go inside a super market to buy some drink. It's usually 99cents but they had it at $1.15. These high gas prices are making my head hurt. Will the high gas prices ever go down?

High gas prices could be a good thing... if they continue to go up, or even stay where they are, they could encourage people to find other means of transportation. If people start to carpool, it will cut down on the dangerous emissions. If more people ride bikes and walk to work (& I'm seeing a lot of that lately), it will cut down on "Obese America." If people have to spend their money on fuel, it can cut down on the purchasing of alcohol... High gas prices, though not immediately, could cause American's to re-evaluate the way they live their lives... it could, in a roundabout way, help create a healther lifestyle for Americans. For the record though... "darn those high gas prices!" LoL.

Although I am just one person, I know there are others that are in the same situation as me. I live 15 minutes (not a terribly long drive) from my school and around 20-25 minutes away from my work, my friends, my church, etc. Riding my bike is definitely not and option. Also, there aren't any people at my school that live near me (I go to a private Christian school and there are students from various areas of our town and adjacent towns) so the carpool thing is kindof shot too.
