Racism is such a touchy subject- and will probably never be burried. I can understand calling somebody "racist" when they actually practice discrimination... when they call those of another race inappropriate names, or cause harm based solely on the color of somebody's skin, or their dialect. However, I am SICK & TIRED of those who are being "judged" standing up and saying that everybody else is racist... just because (I'll use white, just because we seem to be the most commonly accused) a caucasion person looks at a Hispanic person, or Native American for longer than seems "normal," doesn't mean that they're looking at them in disgust, or for racial reasons. Maybe we're admiring your t-shirt, or your deep brown eyes. Maybe we see beauty in your race. Maybe, just maybe, we get a "vibe" from you that tells us that you're a cool person to be around. MAYBE WE LOOK AT EVERYBODY LIKE THAT!
I come from an area where most of the population is white- however, there are many hispanics in the area too. So, I'm sure I'm not seeing the day-to-day true discrimination. That's not what I'm talking about though... did you guys watch the show "Black/White" or whatever it was called? In that show, during the first episode, the black father & the white father went walking down a busy city street together. The point was for the white man to see the looks that the black man was given... I'm sorry, but along with the white man, I didn't see ANYTHING unusual. He claimed that people were moving over on the sidewalk to avoid him... Yeah, TO AVOID RUNNING INTO ANOTHER PERSON! It didn't look AT ALL like they were scared of being close to him. If I'm in a busy area, I move over for anybody... black, white, russian, chinese... even canine. LoL. It's a respect issue... it's not a matter of "oh, I'm scared your heritage is going to rub off on me." It's common courtesy for parties in both directions to give a little room... whether your both white, or a mixture of races. It's also common courtesy for both parties to smile, or give a little "hello." That smile doesn't mean, "please don't hurt me, I'm scared of your color," it's a simple acknowledgement of existence.
I'm sure this will anger some people, it's just something I had to get off my chest. Pointing a finger and calling such simple acts racist is like, well, the pot calling the kettle black. (No, that's not a racist comment, I just don't know any other sayings that mean the same thing!!)

Yeah. People say that you shouldn't judge people by their color or race, but it's almost impossible to do so. Race, color and culture are all things that the American culture (and perhaps others) have used to label a certain group of people a certain way. It's easy to label someone and judge them on appearances alone, and I don't care what anyone says, everyone does it.
Racism is less about individual anti-black feelings, and more about a system that privileges whites over blacks. It's far more nebulous than how a few people act (or don't act) on the street.
I don't know why I used blacks as an example here, but the same goes for all the so-called "minorities".
I was just giving an example of one of the things that bothers me... not defining racism by it. If you want to get technical, racism is "the practice of racial discrimination, segregation, etc." as defined by Webster's New World Dictionary. To go on, race is defined in part as: "any of the different varieties of human beings distinguished by physical traits..."
Racism is not more about "more about a system that privileges whites over blacks" or whichever minority you choose... Racism is an individual act, as well as a system act. Yes, racism is a nebulous term, but the actions of racism are not at all unclear, and do include how people act.
I had a very hard time understanding this concept at first too. It's so abstract, theoretical... it's so much easier to see the tangible acts of racial violence in the streets.

I had a situation like this happen to me. I went to a predominatly White school, but there were several other cultures. One day I was admiring a chain that a Black student was wearing when he caught me looking at him and starting saying really rude things to me. I looked at him like I would look at anyone but the fact that I am White and he is Black made he and his friends infuriated.
If this is you in the photo I would think that you are probably not white.
I couldn't off hand place you into a group by simply being "not white, maybe" however.

Given your name I would be suspicious that you are a Communist and a Femminist.
Chop'd'd off the Haed
Supposing you are, not saying you are, but if you are (as you don't recognize this by default would be in said conspiracy): are you abject to live in a non-multicultural nation?
edit: strike that -- a non-parasitic, non-invasive nation?
I, myself, was born out of the womb of the American Continent by seeds of the white man. My religion, my religious school is overrun by Communists. I have no degree now simply because they planted their own agents in places of power.
Why don't you build your own school? Why do you need everything to magical be built for you? And then in the center of it?

...there is a leash law. It applies only to dogs and not to cats. Why?
