I can't wait for Saturday

I can't wait for Saturday!  This Saturday, May 13th, I am graduating from highschool.  I am so excited!  "A bit early, isn't it?",you ask.  Well yes, but because this graduation ceremony is for four homeschooled girls it can be a month earlier than public school graduations will be.  It has been a lot of work to pull this together, but it is going to be worth it.  And now, you may ask,(along with everyone else in the known universe), what are you doing next?  My answer is, "well, umm, I need to get my driver's liscence, and then a job would be good and..."  "But aren't you going to college?"  I am, just not this fall.  I will attend college starting sometime next year.  And then comes the inevitable "oh, well ok".  I'm not stalling, I just don't know what exactly I'm supposed to do with my life yet, including where I want to attend college.  Most of my friends are cool with that and support me, but the adults are a different story.  Most seem to think, that I'm either trying to avoid college or am stupid not to run off to school.  Thank God my mom is being understanding and supportive.  Of course that might only be because if I'm around still she can still make me babysit my 6 younger siblings!

Why can't people just get over it?  It is always be yourself, but let me tell you what to do!  Anyone alse have similar problems?

I went to college after I graduated (2004) not knowing what I wanted to do and not being completely focused. I ended up getting kicked out and wasting a ton of money. After, I got a full time job (as well as a part time) and worked my booty off to save for college the 2nd time around. Its been almost 2 years and I know exactly what I want to do with my life, I know where I want to go, and I have definitly matured in my decision making. I realized how badly I screwed up the first time, and it sucks I had to go through it, but I've learned from my mistakes. Ive also learned that theres no need to jump into things if you're not fully prepared. It's good to take time and sort things because in the end, you'll save time and money and really know what you want and youll be able to go for it with full force!

Congratulations, and best of luck!

Totally! GO homeschoolers!! Haha, I was homeschooled too, and just graduated early as well. You are totally right about waiting to go to college!! You will only have your teenage/early 20's years for a little while, and college will always be there; it ain't going anywhere! Even though I am heading to college this fall, my brother waited a year and hasn't lost anything; he's actually been really glad that he waited. Good to hear that there are still graduating homeschoolers out there!!

Good Luck at Graduation, I have to wait until June 9th. :( Oh well only like 20 more days.
