I Want a President who can be Republican, Democrat, and Everything Else in Between

There are definitely a lot of differences on how these two parties view current issues. But I hardly know someone who is completely a Republican or a Democrat. Many of them do not support their own party 100% and side with the opposite party on certain problems. Therefore, why can't we have a President who can be a Republican and a Democrat to run the country?

Honestly, I would like someone who has flexible perspectives on different dilemma we have in the world. Just because they are Democrats, it doesn't mean that these Presidential Candidates have to follow every step their party drew for them, does it? As long as we know that our President can make a decision and speak up for it.

Being a flip-flop and an open minded President is totally two distinctive positions. I don't want the Presidential Candidate who can easily change their positions, but rather someone who can look at alternative solutions. Perhaps one of the reasons why Republicans and Democrats do not get along is because there is no one who can stand in between and negotiate both aspects. Why do we desperately need someone to stand still like a rock? Wouldn't water flow more effectively?

It is so funny to hear Democratic Presidential Candidates attack their rivals for supporting some of the Republican's legislations. I frankly see nothing wrong when a Democrat agrees with what a Republican has to say or when a Republican consents what a Democrat has to offer. What is wrong with it? If one agrees on something his or her opposition proposes, does that mean that person is a traitor?

I like Democrats' views, but I would prefer Republicans' standing on several affairs. Does that mean I have to label myself as a Republican or a Democrat?

Haha...Hero of the Day award goes to: TrueLife90. There's no prize, just a cool title.

You rock. I totally agree.

A President (or any other politician) should be able to determine a position on an issue and then stick to it, regardless of party delineations.

The money stands in the way. Both parties sell their souls for contributions from special interests. If a candidate does not promise loyalty to those interest groups they not only miss out on the money to campaign, but they lose the 'machine' that exists as the party organization in localities arround the country. To go your own way requires creating a nation wide organization.
It is easy to tear apart the character of a single person with nothing but a few inuendo. Facts that can be twisted are present in every background. These people worship power over any principle, or they would not be where they are.

A fact is always better than an ideal

I am mostly for the democratic views, but I agree with some of the republican views as well. You can see a little push in the right direction when you look at all of the beginning candidates political stances side by side. It makes me feel good when all the democrats oppose and issue and you see one who is in favor of it and vise versa. But America just isn't ready to loose the two parties. Some people just wouldn't know who to vote for without the r or d in front of a name.
