One thing that I truly learned when I was on vacation is that money truly is the root of all evil. The family drama always leads back to money and it tends to happen when a family member dies and it’s time to split up the money and property. One of the things that my uncle was so angry with my family after the funeral was that fact that his name was not on the bank accounts now. They went and took his name off the account. He didn’t know that they could do that and said that he was going to get my mom’s friend fired because she works in the bank meanwhile, she wasn’t the one who attended to them. I never knew someone could change so much and get like that.
Another time where drama was caused by money came up when I was walking to my cousin and he was saying how the families don’t talk. It starts with the siblings a generation above me and goes down to their grandkids. The families are split and don’t communicate because of money issues. The grandkids are cool and get along with one another, but the older ones don’t. It’s sad to see a family split apart like that over such a petty thing. And I see it happening in my family already and I don’t want it to. I wish things could be like they used to be.

Damn, I hate when people misuse this statement. Money is in no way evil. It is a necessity.
Yea....it is a necessity....but not the way people act about it. And i never said money was evil.....it's the root of evil....there's a big difference.
I don't think it's money itself that is the cause of evil. It's people who are inherently avaricious or whatever, and money is merely a medium through which most of the "evil" is expressed.
People can have no money and still be evil, you know.
It definitely is the root of all evil. I wrote a post about that a while back and I definitely agree with you.
Now I haven't noticed it in my family because nobody in my family is really wealthy, so we're pretty much on a level playing field. But where I notice it A LOT is in my school because half of my town is the "poor side" (which is where I live), and the other half is the "rich side." Now compared to inner city standards, most of the "poor side" wouldn't be considered poor, but in my school the difference is so apparent. And I'm not trying to generalize, but I've noticed that more of the people on the "poor side" are nicer, appreciate what they have, etc. The students on the "rich side" get cars, clothes, cell phones, etc handed to them and they don't even care when they get broken or anything because they know daddy will just get them a new one. It's sickening.
In the first place, you got the quote wrong. It's actually "love of money" that is "the root of evil."
And I like money.
