For the Bush Lied Crowd

Questions for those that think Bush lied about the WMD's existence:

1) Why did Bill Clinton bomb Iraq in Dec. 1998 because he felt Iraq possessed WMD and had ties to terrorists? Why did he sign the Iraq Liberation Act of 1998, for multiple reasons including WMD?

 2) If Bush is so evil as to lie about the WMD to get us in there, why didn't he plant a bunch to find?

3) Why would Bush lie about the WMD when that would mean we'd go in and find nothing?

4) If Bush lied, how come the bipartisan commissions in the U.S. and elsewhere found that he did not? Surely the Democrats would seize upon this.

5) If Bush lied, how did he get the intelligence community, military and political bureaucracy all on-board? Is the government really that competent?

6) If he can pull off such an elaborate trick, how can he be so competent in that regard, but incompetent in winning the war or even a presidential race?

If Bush didn't lie, where are the WMDs?

If Bush didn't lie, what does Clinton have to do with it? The treaty AFTER Clinton bombed Iraq was that Iraq would make no more WMDs, oh yeah and leave Kuwait. That is entirely irrelevant to what Bush has done/said.

If Bush wasn't lying then why would 60% of the intelligence and military community say there were no WMDs to start with?

If Bush wasn't lying, then why are there no links between Saddam and Al-Quaeda?

How is the fact that he didn't cover his dishonesty and misrepresentation of evidence with even more dishonesty by planting WMDs a plus?

Starting a war is far different and far more difficult than winning one.

Bush believed that there were WMDs. He didn't state for a fact, and therefore couldn't have been lying. He just misrepresented and exagerated and generally went yellow press on the whole deal. I consider this lying, but in the strictest sense it isn't.

What treaty was signed after Clinton? And as for Kuwait, Clinton had nothing to do with Iraq leaving Kuwait. That was Bush Senior.

And where did you get the idea that 60% said there was no WMD? The consensus view was that there were WMD based on the fact that Iraq did not account for stockpiles it admitted to having.

The argument about links to Al-Qaeda is still open, and there is much to argue about. I do suggest, though, you look at the DOCEX database where documents found in Iraq have been released.
