So I've been gone. Not for any particular reason, I just tend to disappear from various things for awhile. I end up going away to live as a deranged hermit on my own metaphysical mountaintop. It's a nice place, free from porn commercials and rabid weasels. I do this across the board, from blogging sites, myspace, even in my general life. Helps me to remain insane. Who wants to be sane anyway, it's too sterile and contrived.
I also tend to disappear in times of great happiness. If only to retain that "I win" feeling for my memories. Like snapshots of joy that I can replay on the slide projector of my mind. I'm sure there's some paranoid disassociative disorder that explains the root cause of my vanishing acts. Who fucking knows? I certainly don't, and I've been living inside me for as far back as I can remember.
Yet, I cannot be gone for long. I'm always drawn back. Maybe it's the release of being able to spout my unearthly wisdom to the faceless masses. Maybe it's the release of being able to say something totally inane like "unearthly wisdom".
So I'm back. Come down from the mountain. Hide your lust and libedo. Pack up the survival kit and don't forget to bring extra bags for your SweetPea. Get your bowel disrupting raygun and click it to the "intestinal volcano" setting and lock your e-doors. I feel a rant worthy of wiki coming over me.
**SPOILER ALERT: This will most likely piss you off**
I DESPISE the political fuckwittery in America.
I am now realizing that there will never be a truly people-serving politician worthy of my admiration. There's never gonna be another JFK. No Camelot in the Whitehouse. Indeed, I think the best we can hope for is White Castle. It's all bullshit now, prepackaged, waiting for your consumption while it sits steaming under a heatlamp called CNN.
I don't like the idea of John McCain in office. Maybe it harkens back to when I was in bootcamp and we had to watch a video of the U.S.S. Forestal burning like a frathouse party gone awry. It was McCain's plane that had the "malfunction". Somehow I see the Forestal as a prophetic symbol of my beloved country. Maybe it's because I can't stand republicans in general. I didn't like them before, and now that we've had Bush for the last eight years I have discovered a hatred for them that makes me foam at the mouth and curse like I have tourettes and a thesaurus. It seems to me like the only thing the average republican does well is masturbating into the stars and stripes.
Sometimes the democrats don't sit well with me either. Too many special interest groups have their hands in too many pockets. There were so many Hillary vs. Obama discussions that it seemed to me that the whole party began to believe that whoever came out on top was a shoe in for the office. At first I thought Hillary was going to come out on top, just because she seems to be a "On Top" kinda gal. It was like a sideshow attraction. "Come one come all, see the AMAZING Democratic party.... watch in awe as it CONSUMES itself from the inside. Feel the TERROR as it cannibalizes itself!" Just in the corner of the tent I'm sure I saw Condi eating cotton candy, while giving Jeb Bush a handjob.
I hope to God the best person wins the office and then actually fulfills the promises made during their campaign. I'm just not so sure that it will happen. Politics is said to be the world's second oldest profession. I'm just not so sure how it differs from the first.

"tourettes and a thesaurus"??? I love the image!

I was going to comment on that one, too. Oh, man! He turns a nice phrase.

The consuming of itself from the inside pissed me off, too. All nine months of it. I don't know what's left for the republicans to do, since we managed to air all of Obama's dirty laundry. We gave them all the ammunition they need.
I'm tired of the game, but I don't know how to change the rules. I don't know if the best person ever wins.
http://www.progressiveu.org/blog/ediblewoman
The best person would never be dumb enough or currupt enough to play the game. Who needs that shit? Consequently, we only get scum bags and there is not much difference between the two parties. Each is beholden to a different set of corrupt special interest groups.
Wanting to be President should be a disqualifier. Anybody who wants the office is not anyone we should allow to be President.
We should just every four years drag some poor schmuck out of the general population chosen by short straws and FORCE him/her to be President. Just about anybody at my favorite water hole could do as good a job as the idiots that have had it for most of my 50 year lifetime.
Well let me start off on a good note. Welcome back. Okay now for the rant I will piss you off. Since you hate McCain solely based on the fact that he is a republican is a crazy thought it is like hating the sky because it is blue. Now I do not like either candidate but I will choose the one that does not piss me off that much. Obama started his ride to fame on the stand of change and as someone said "not all change is good" but now I will tell you I am more worried about Jimmy Carter's second term then I am about Bush's third term.
What you don't understand how Obama could be Carters second term it is because of their foreign polices both of them will make America look weak and will have every country in the world walking all over us. Also Obama's plans for Iran is laughable meeting with out preconditions is he crazy maybe. Iran will not listen and dismantle their nuclear program they will go into full force and do something stupid with that technology. And Mr. Obama will be standing back with his even weaker military mostly a hand few of reservists asking Iran to stop it that is not nice. But will Iran care no why because why would they? America will not attack them they have it made.
I know under Obama that we will have taxes raised, the fairness doctrine will return, and our economy. We will also be losing more of are military and withdrawing from Iraq leaving that country to fend some one else to help them and who do you think that will be. If you guessed China you maybe right if you guessed terrorist groups you maybe closer.
I will not sit here and tell you that you should vote for McCain he has many faults to but I can live with them for the most part. But I would not vote for someone based solely on the party that they were with. I wish that there was a third choice.
I am not telling you to read my blog but if you want you can access it at http://www.progressiveu.org/223749-unfairness-doctrine
There are many more then just a third choice. As a responsible voter it is up to you to find them. It is too bad that we have to seek so hard to get to know them. The media are hard pushers of the two party mantality.
Like it was stated above and in other places... The People can create change . We just have to band together and vote as we want and not continue to placate the wills of the big ones.

I wouldn't vote for someone based solely on their party, either, but the Republican party has come to exemplify several different stances that I fundamentally disagree with. McCain has gone from a party "rebel" to Exhibit A.
One of these is the idea that we need to "show our strength" in order to be respected in the world. While I don't think that dismantling our army and sending world leaders flowers is what we need to do, attacking other countries that may or may not have involvement with our enemies when we may or may not have world support is the antithesis to gaining respect. We're LOSING respect from Bush's policies, and as you said, McCain would be like a third term of Bush.
What scares me the most is his support for attacking Iran, a country that holds nuclear capabilities and a good portion of the world's oil. We're already stretched thin between Iraq and Afghanistan, two countries with minimal military capabilities. Attacking Iran would be a disaster heaped upon disaster and I don't think America can live with that.

Let me see if I'm reading you correctly--more militarism is the answer?
Have you signed up for the army, navy, coast guard, anything?
Or do you favor even more of an overextended military than we already have?
Should we attack North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Lebanon, Cuba?
If you answered yes to each of these questions, please watch this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=jtw5Zy2M6rk&feature=related

You have an excellent way of expressing yourself. It's humorous and very vivid at the same time.
I also agree with you about McCain being scary and the Democrats screwing themselves. Frankly, it pissed me off royally to watch. Especially all those polls that said that women who had voted for Clinton said they were going to vote for McCain if she didn't get the nomination. How ridiculous!
If they mess this up just because they're over confident and spent too much time bickering rather than actually campaigning, I may just move to Australia (Canada is too cold).

JFK became one of the United States great presidents? Interesting.
I was under the assumption that he was loved because he got shot and if it wasn't for that people would have seen him for the bad president he was. (just like Lincoln)

Good blog! I do know how you feel about politicians. Sometimes I feel like I am only voting for the lesser of two evils. I am confident, however that political candidates who sincerely care about our country DO exist, the most difficult task would be getting them into office since they are most likely above the dirty fighting it usually takes to move up in politics.
Thank you, as I couldn't have said it better. The imagery made me laugh so hard I nearly fell off my chair. Thank you for sharing the truth, even if is is just your opinion. Some die hards might disagree with you, but this can definitely present a great opposition.

I too grew tired of all the nonsensical redundancies that the Democratic debates presented us with. All the debates did, after maybe about the first 2, was just waste time and give more airplay to the two... That being said, I'm still voting for Obama :p.
You have a very lovely way with words - fabulous imagery.
