We've all been exposed to this dream:
Someone is born poor with very low-standard living conditions (maybe even homeless), and eventually becomes wealthy without a care in the world and all of his or her dreams have come true.
Sometimes, they become the focus of a benefactor: Little Orphan Annie or Cinderella. Other times they worked hard and took opportunities as they saw them come: Bill Gates or Abraham Lincoln.
The idea of becoming anything you want to be despite any bad luck early on in your life is an attractive one; and the high rate of social mobility in the United States makes it a very possible one. But how often do you really think it happens, and how realistic do you really think it is?

Pretty unrealistic. I've heard tell that it's pretty difficult to change your socioeconomic status in an upward direction.
That's just my opinion, though.
