Singular Dreams

For the graduating class of 2006 it is now the end of our high school years. The end of immature action or irresponsibility, the beginning of new opportunities,  a new journey.... or is it? As I sit here on the last days of my senior year as we know which is just a go to class to get attendance days, I wonder what really is the definition of being a senior or graduating for that matter. We are told that being a Senior means that we have accomplished all the criteria that will help us to succeed in life, to create a better future for ourselves. Yes, a better future is what we all wish for ourselves, but the definition of a better future is not the same in every high school graduates mind. For some it is to go to college for a couple of years, get an associates or bachelors degree and build a career for ourselves, but for others it is not as complex, it is as simple as just wanting to get a well paid job and building a family. But those with the more simple goals should not be judged as the poor minded, to them, these goals are as big as the struggle of forming a career. So I am here to conclude that when we are sitting in our chairs, wearing our graduating cap and gown, and listening to the validictorians speech, we should also keep in mind that our goals, dreams, hopes, are no better and no less than anyone elses, it is our own individual dream for the future.
