After a while, Bananas won't be your "best friend" in terms of maintaining your weight

Tagged:  •    •    •

Why I wrote this blog is because I've noticed that the last time I ate a whole banana, my weight went up to 146 lbs. So now, I only eat half of a banana because eating half of a banana isn't fattening as eating a whole banana. But, I wonder why eating a whole banana is now fattening to me because I thought that eating bananas aren't fattening like eating other fruits (like strawberries, apples, blueberries, etc.). Also while I was losing weight and used to eat a whole banana for Breakfast, they didn't make me gain any weight.

Bananas are starches. According to International Starch Institute "The starch content [of a banana] is about 25%". Starches as is the stuff in potatos that you're suppose to avoid in large quantites. Of all the fruits you mentioned, bananas are quite possibly the most fattening. The other fruits are fattening for a different reason: they all have high carbohydrate levels because of the natural sugars. They're all good for you, but thats why you wont lose weight if you switch to a fruit-only diet. Think about what you eat; if it doesn't add up, google search its nutritional values.

I always eat half of my banana and give the other half to my dog Chloe.

Hi, heron83! Thanks for responding to this blog because I had no idea that why bananas are fattening is because of starches.
