Watch out... religion alert

It's 2008 and I think God is largely misrepresented. Why wouldn't people get the wrong idea? Homeless people standing on every intersection holding up signs that say "Every little bit helps; God bless you", Catholic priest scandals, and Christian Hollywood stars getting pregnant at 16 out of wedlock. Then we have representatives like Tom and Katie who lead a perfect life following scientology or Angelina, who is single-handedly saving a third world country, all of whom are not Christian but paving the way for world peace. How do we help this? Politicians today are bullied into legalizing sin (sin which is according to the Bible) on issues like homosexual marriages, abortions, and so on. We can sit here free in will all day long but not make the world a better place. So join the party. Let us all sit and wallow in ignorance and self-indulgence until we youtube our brains out or eat ourselves silly. How about let's condemn the illegal immigrants for taking away our minimum wage service jobs and that's the reason why most Americans are still unemployed? So now, we have George Bush and God to point fingers at. We might say that Britney Spears is taking up too much time on the airways, so why not blame her for the corruption of our children too! Ah, yes. America, the land of defeated excuses.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not all cynisicm. I just don't appreciate how our generation has lost the idea of making things better for ourselves and not relying on others to do it. Sure, politicians, the police department, and all upper management are corrupt, but by not contributing to a better cause because of them is like fighting fire with fire. The future generation is doomed if we cannot make a stand for ourselves. If you don't like the way Bush does things, find a way to get elected yourself. As for God, if you don't believe, then there's no need to question His work. And if you do believe, then be understanding; I'm sure creationism itself was hard enough work as it is.

I agree with you on everything except:

How about let's condemn the illegal immigrants for taking away our minimum wage service jobs and that's the reason why most Americans are still unemployed?

Illegal immigrants did not take away minimum wage service jobs. Immigrants come and do the jobs that many Americans feel are beneath them and then when big companies decide to export their work and finances Americans rather blame Immigrants for them not having work then the companies that removed their livelihood. Americans should unite and teach big companies like Goodyear, Ford, etc that they are the ones who have gotten them their economic standing and they will not let them take that away easily. As for the immigrants, let them keep the minial jobs that people don't want- the sowing houses, the cleaning, etc.- its not hurting anybody.

Wow, I was thinking the same exact thing! I was going down through the blog saying, "Yep, yes, true, very true" until I got to that jewel of "How about let's condemn the illegal immigrants for taking away our minimum wage service jobs and that's the reason why most Americans are still unemployed?" No wonder God is misrepresented. We don't fully examine the roots of our problems. Let's not blame "illegals" for our problems, ya?

Of course, I can't say I completely agree with you, either, caramel. Big companies that export our jobs aren't the reason for unemployment. If anything, it creates more jobs. Besides, the US unemployment rate is at a relatively good place right now, last year it was the lowest it's ever been.

I really like this post. I believe in God and will continue to raise my children the same way. Everybody has there own opinion but it is sad because it seems people are being forced to not be allowed to express there love for God in public. I guess each is for there own???

Tom and Katie leading a "perfect life" or what a pregnant popstar has to do with Christianity.

You claim politicians are forced to legalize "sins", but lets not forget that this country was founded on freedom of religion, so my idea of a sin and your idea of a sin do not have to be the same. Furthermore, it is my first amendment right to practice any religion I choose, and I personally feel banning gay marriage and abortions is sinful. It's not the government's place to pick my beliefs over yours or your over mine.
Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see.

I was thinking the same thing, so since you posted it first I'll just agree with you instead of sounding like a broken record.
