For those of you that have not heard, Barrack Obama has decided not to wear the American flag lapel pin that has become so common among politicians since 9/11. It is crazy that people would make a big deal out of not wearing a lapel pin. Obama says that he has decided to make a statement by not wearing it, and that he feels it is more patriotic to discuss the future of America than to wear a lapel pin. Critics say that it is unpatriotic to take the lapel pin off and that it is offensive to the troops. I find it more offensive to the troops to divulge the name of a undercover agent or to pardon the man who did so.
Personally, I didn't even know they wore those lapel pin. And personally, it doesn't matter. Wearing a lapel pin to prove your patriotism is like an immigrant wearing a baseball cap to prove citizenship. Its just silly and proves nothing. If you want to prove your patriotism by wearing an accessory, make it stripes you received while serving in the military or a "I voted" sticker. Nothing else means anything.
On a somewhat side not, it is completely unfair the way Fox news treated the girl who spoke against Obama on this subject. Sure I disagree with her, but interrupting her every sentence is no way to have a discussion, debate, or even argument for that sake. Fox news and their tactics disgust me.
If you are unfamiliar with what I am talking about, I'm sure there are plenty of videos on youtube.

Wearing a pin or displaying a yellow magnetic ribbon on your car doesn't prove you're patriotic. It proves you have $4.99 and can follow the crowd.
It's pretty sad that loving one's country doesn't mean shit if you don't have the required 11 pieces of flare to prove it.
If Obama wants to display his love for his country with actions instead of jewelry, then more power to him.
p.s. The only problems I have with yellow magnetic ribbons on cars are the people who display them horizontally. They look redikullus that way. I just thought you should know.
