Oy vey!

A contractors convoy was attacked and some Americans were kidnapped. AND don't forget we're still missing ONE American SOLDIER who was kidnapped a few weeks ago who Bush's administration just 'let go'. I hope this isn't going to be a case when Bush jumps into action for contractors while ignoring the kidnapping of our soldier!

Four Americans are believed to be among 14 people kidnapped in an ambush of a convoy of contractors in Iraq near the city of Nasariyah, defense officials tell ABC News.

Coalition forces have been mobilized to find the people taken by the ambushers, the defense officials said.

...Early in the trip, the convoy stopped at what looked like an Iraqi police checkpoint, military officials said. Initial reports say 19 trucks were seized and approximately 14 people, including four Americans detained.
There is still a great deal of confusion about whether the checkpoint was operated by real Iraqi police or by a Shiia militia, the officials said.

Sheesh. This just disgusts me. Aside from anger at being lied to for so long about the seriousness of the IRaq situation and chances for victory, now we see a hierarchy of American lives in Iraq.

Employees of the contractors- PRICELESS.

Employees of the military-a dime a dozen.

Am I the only one who thinks thats just wrong?

I mean seriously! TRoops were sent over, PAYING for their own body armor IF They had it, while Halliburton employees purchased theirs with government funds....

And now THIS? We'll abandon our soldiers no problem-they have military training, can take care of themselves... and besides... tehy KNEW what they were getting into after all...

But we MUST mount a rescue for contractors!

Yeeaaahhh.

This is why the Democrats are doign so well. Because people are beginning to realize that Bush doesn't care about our troops lives. That his priorities are out of sync with the people, and the only people he calls constituents are his wealthy friends.
We need to get ourselves out of there NOW! Everyone sees that but Bush... but hey Halliburton has record profits so everythings fine!

I don't know if I'm still being coherent-its about three AM, and i'm somewhat medication muddled as my hand hurts dreadfully...

Oh well, what can you do?

Amazing! This Website is called, “Progressive U” and all you are arguing about is AMERICAN lives in Iraq (i.e. “civilian contractors” vs soldiers). But what about the many thousands of innocent IRAQIS killed by War Criminal, Bush? I went to jail instead of Vietnam, and I say, some “progressives” you are!

to false conclusions.

Check that David - you CAN judge these so-called 'progressives' and this post and your comments are very pertinent. Just take a look at this post from yesterday about women in Afghanistan

After I ripped through her post and two others did too - one responder even being an admitted liberal who said admirably that we have to be fair when the truth isn't beinhg told - this blogger is too afraid to respond. She found it convenient to list the current state of women in Afghanistan, which isn't obviously perfect and looks bad on paper, without mentioning the other half of the story - the previousl condition of women under the Taliban, where they had NO rights and weren't even allowed to go to school or take of their opressive burkas in public. This blogger just sees what's convenient to see.

In the ONE DAY and ONE HOUR that you've been a member, you've failed to write even ONE blog. Instead you have been verbally abusive on THREE SEPARATE THREADS.

In the meantime, you've decided to harrass someone who in the same time period has posted MULTIPLE THREADS, MULTIPLE COMMENTS, and GOES TO SCHOOL, AND WORKS outside of this blogging.

Moderators have the right and obligation to review your posts. Read their policy on virtual harrassment which they DO TAKE SERIOUSLY.

Don't respond to the facts about women in Afghanistan - just attack me. Your character shows. The truth hurts doens't it?

Your response to me here is inappropriate.

I don't understand. I've seen more abusive and ad hominem attacks on here but nothing is done about those...this looks like a disagreement.

You'd understand if you saw the other t hread dunningboy was attacking on. He's pulled it into multiple threads including this one, its only a piece of the picture. Thanks for your concern though!

well, hopefully it will resolve itself.
