I understand that the noose is a hate symbol to black americans...the reason it is, is because black americans empower it to mean a symbol. The "hangman's noose" is a knot used in sailing, are you telling me that if I needed to tie one on a ship, that'd I'd be punished? And does this law mean, that if someone hanged themselves that we'd ticket a dead corpse? Oh this is to good to be true.
As long as the black american community allows the noose to be a symbol of hate and fear, then it will not go away. Letting something as meaningless as a piece of rope psychologically damage our freedoms is bullshit. The swatstika and the burning cross have for the most part been ignored and thus they have no power of fear and hate over jews and the black americans. Unfortunately it's been replaced by the noose. This is silly and dumb.
Someone in the paper wrote something about the noose and how black americans are empowering it and how the KKK and neo-nazi's killed hundreds of black americans after the civil war. However what amazed me is the information he put out saying that each year, black americans kill more black americans than the KKK did from when it was started until now. Pretty sad folks. Stop empowering the noose that fools and morons use because they think it can scare you. And stop killing your own people and acting like the KKK is horrible. Sure they hate, but so does the Black Panthers and NOI. So it balances out.
Listen everyone, when we start criminalizing knots, you know there is something wrong. It scares me to witness our liberties being taken away by our Congress who won't listen to us. Guess next time I decide to go on a ship, I should watch out because the government could arrest me for tying a knot. I agree that words and symbols are only given power when you fear or hate them. I even agree that outlawing the noose as a whole may be over the top. However, ever since the Jena 6 incident, the noose has become popular again. A boy in my neighborhood passed out fliers with an old picture of a black man hanging on it. He said that just because it was used to kill a couple of black people didn’t necessarily make it a bad symbol. He then went on to explain that lynching was used to kill homosexuals, criminals, and perverts too, and that was a good thing. So, it goes both ways. The noose is empowered by both those that see at as a symbol to express hate and those that fear it because of the hate it might express.

This site is a dedication to the progressive principles that has made this nation so great, and one of those principles is personal responsilibity.
