I'm totally against this war that we're in right now. We're in the same exact boat we were in 40 years ago during the war in Vietnam. Can't the president see that history repeats itself? I don't know what he's trying to accomplish over there, but everyday we're at war more innocent blood is shed (American and Iraqi) and more money is spent that we don't have. I have nothing against the solidiers there, they're just doing their job. But their job should not be to be fighting in some far away land with no clear objectives.

You have to also blame congress. THEY KEEP approving Billion dollars of spending for Iraq. I don't know what they are thinking. I don't think the president will back down, because if he does, he would have to admit defeat.
I agree, history does love to repeat itself. We should have adopted an isolationist policy. Who cares what happens in other countries? They do not concern us. We left Stalin alone, and things were fine. We left Rwanda alone, things were also fine there. We left Germany alone when Hitler was making his speeches and gathering his Nazi party, and things turned out just fine.
And that terrible book titled "For Whom the Bell Tolls," what was the Hemingway thinking?
