The simplicities of life

SeanDonnelly's picture

Well lately I have tried to just sit back and watch life go by. See the way people really act. Pass no judgment or have any expectations. I was very disappointed in what I saw. People not taking the time to open the door for someone else. People saying foul language in front of children. I don’t recall seeing anyone acting out of the kindness of their heart. I also see a lot of people getting angry over simple things. One of their kids dropping an item by accident, in which the parent felt the need to yell at their child. I don’t mean to tell parents how to raise their kids, but I see no need in getting angry over something so small. It is only wasting yours and everyone else’s time. Getting angry over something like a game or a movie being horrible, isn’t the way to re-act to the situation. You can convey your frustration at a situation without yelling, using foul language, getting physical, or anything along those notions. I myself am not saying I am perfect or that I do no do any of these things, but I try to resist the urge and stop myself from doing these things. If I feel myself getting over-whelmed with the situation and feel the need to yell or raise my voice I usually walk away and calm down and then come back to resolve the situation. I really try not to leave problems un-resolved. I try to mend and fix the problem if possible. People tend to avoid and neglect the simplicities of life and try to over-analyze or “blow up” the situation.. I am not saying that everyone should do this. I am just saying in my mind that I wish more people would notice other people and not be so angry.

As always thanks for reading, if you have any comments please post them or send me a message. I just ask that you be tasteful if you don’t agree or are against what I am saying

Have a great day J

I agree. I wish people would take a step back from their lives, learn to relax, and start appreciating the little things. Life goes past too quickly to waste time yelling, hurting others, or being stressed-out.

You couldn't be more right. The problem you describe is something that would make the world a much better place if solved. Everyone needs to take a chill pill and relax a little. Good blog.

The sad thing is, I am guilty of several of the things you have listed. Often, when people yell, they might not be mad at the situation, but their frustrations are related to other things. I think if people took more time to think about the situation before they respond, things would go better. That is certainly something that I, and others around me, need to work on.

I was a life guard for three years, and I hated how the parents would yell at their kids for NOTHING! It's so annoying! Like you just want to tell them to chill out!

Well said. I p;osted a blog somewhat similar to this, only mine referred more to chivalry and common courtesies toward other people. I wish people would be more courteous towards others. i try to hold the door open for people as often as I can, and I feel bad when i don't.

Anyway, great blog. Straight to the point. Kudos to you.
