I find these quotes amusing, insightful, odd or they just tickle my fancy. I love quotes, but have a hard time remembering who said what, so forgive me if they are unaccounted for.
“Kill one and you are a murderer. Kill ten thousand and you are a conqueror. Kill all and you are a God.”
“There are lies, damned lies, and statistics.” – Mark Twain
“I find my only problems with drugs come from people trying to stop me from using them.” – Hunter S. Thompson (a bit of a paraphrase I am afraid)
“I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in.”
“We can’t stop here. This is bat country!” – Raul Duke
“Tune in, turn on, drop out.” – Dr. Timothy Leary
“L Dopa fixed me/alright!” – Big Black – L Dopa
“What is your major malfunction Private Pyle? Did mommy and daddy not love you enough when you were a child!” – Sgt. Harman
“The ones who run, are VC. The ones who stand still, are well disciplined VC.” – Doorgunner
“I am become Death, destroyer of worlds.” - J. Oppenheimer
“The dead know only one thing: it is better to be alive.” – Pvt. Joker
“If I'm gonna get my balls blown off for a word, my word is poontang.” – Animal Mother
“Feed your head.” – Jefferson Airplane
“What the fuck are we doing out here in the middle of the desert..." – Dr. Gonzo

Awesome quotes, especially the Twain one about statistics....It cracks me up...
And an interesting note: the Oppenheimer quote is actually a quote of a quote. He was quoting from part of the Bhagavad Gita, said between Krishna and Arjuna (or Vishnu and Arjuna since Vishnu and Krishna are one in Hinduism [the way God and Jesus are one in Christianity]) after Krishna reveals his universal form to him. I don't mean to get too deep into religious studies...just thought it was interesting...

"Live one day at a time, emphasizing ethics rather than rules."
-Wayne Dyer
Thanks. I actually tracked it back to Oppenheimer through three other quoters and figured I had got it down to the source. I seemed to remember the quote being associated with the atomic bomb, so I left it at that. thanks for the interesting info.
