The Tabloid Tragedy

I don't know who I speak for but I for one am sick of the tabloid weight obsession. Every time I'm in the check line at the market that's all I see, pictures of large stars with their faces covered and the draw-in headline "which A-list star has let him/herself go?". I don't care! This obsession with weight in Hollywood is what our young impressionable youth see on a daily basis. It is what drives young girls to purge themselves and starve themselves. It's no better for adults either! As self-assured as I am there are still days that I stand in front of the mirror and pick out all my flaws. I know I'm not perfect or drop dead gorgeous. I've learned to find my personal beauty but it's still hard sometimes when there is so much pressure from so many angles to look a certain way. If some Hollywood actor puts on the pounds I'm sorry but it's their own business, I don't want to see it on the cover... It's a ridiculous obsession. This is why I don't think all the money in the world is worth being famous. Look at what has happened lately... Britney, Lindsey, Nicole , etc they have all had their lives so closely scrutinized. Yes they've made mistakes but I can't imagine it makes dealing with those issues any easier when it's slathered all over the tabloids. Just let it be, we don't need to see these things on a daily basis.... I want to know how the tabloids get away with their slander... Will Smith just won a court case against a british tabloid that accused him of praising hitler...I don't agree with the statement that any publicity is good publicity... I truly think it has hurt many many people.
