Well I'd like to start off by saying this is my first blog, ever. I've never been on to keep a journal, and even when I tried I found myself loosing it on purpose. *cough cough* Well I found this website through fastweb and thought that I've been under a political rock for quite enough time now. So many of my peers are disconnected from the world around them, and I don't want to stay like that. I have a tendency to be over dramatic, so if my entries sound a bit... over the top, please bare with me.

I figure that a good topic to begin my newly found powers of the "Blog" is the interest or involvement of teens in the world around them. I only recently, and I mean 2nd semester of my senior year, became aware of my political surroundings, and what they mean to me. This is not due to any lack of attention on my part, rather nothing was passed on to me by my parents, and they just now defined them to us in class. I believe that high school students should be taught not simply about what government is early on in their studies like we do now, but they should be taught about our current political situations, and their significance. These students are the ones who will have a hand in the up coming elections, and the less they know, the more likely they are to either not vote, or vote for something they have no idea about.
