What is the point of gossiping about celebrities?? Jaime Lynn is pregnant. Britney was taken to the hospital. Jennifer Lopez named her kids. Do we really need to know all of these irrelevant things?
I will agree that although it is nice to know random facts about today's celebrities, i disagree with the amount of personal information that is being talked about all over the world. First of all, I do not think that we have the right to judge anyone for their mistakes. Celebrities are real people too.
Jaime Lynn is pregnant at 16, big whoop. If i go back to my high school, I bet I can find girls younger than that who already have kids. The only reason that it is controversial in America's eyes is because the press is all in her face. She's a teenager, let her be; let her live her own life, make her own mistakes.
Britney was hospitalized. It's not an amazing ordeal. She's been in the highlight of the media for years on end, anyone normal human being would have a breakdown. Having paparazzi on her tail at all times is not going to help the situation.
So Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez are having twins, and they've been named. Is this the kind of news that "highlights" our day? Come on people, its just another pair of babies being born, who were named; not a huge matter.
Tell me, why aren't Perez Hilton and Ryan Seacrest all over Obama and Hilary? This year will go down in history. Never before has a woman or a black man run for office, much less in the same year. Why can't the media focus on things that are relevant and will affect our everyday lives? Do we want our soldiers in Iraq, putting more and more soldiers out in the line of fire? I am not disagreeing with the war, but I think its about time that we finish up what we started and come home. Enough lives have been taken, especially civilian Iraqui lives.
Lets stop focusing on them and start focusing on us.

You dont know how i've been thinking the same thing. Everytime i browse channels...and i see extra or any of those celebrity news shows its like why would you take hours of your life watching this crap... Yeah i get what you're saying theyre ppl too...but i dont know them... In all honesty those shows are indirectly stating that these people have fame and fortune and because the majority of the shows viewers have neither of these theyre not as important- "lets cut off the REAL news and distract them from their mediocre lives by focusing on people they will never meet that dont know their names let alone give a crap about their well being. But the saddest part is that people watch them...faithfully! People line up in stores to buy those tabloids that have michael jacksons 99th plastic surgery details. What about the developing cure for breast cancer, toxins in what you eat, public education- anything!!! Im just randomly picking what you would expect our society to really give a damn about. "Brad and Anjelina traded one of theyre adopted kids for a 68.5 million dollar mansion on top of the washington monument", kind of interesting but...how does it affect me? Just the other day a friend was discussing whitney houston and bobby brown...apparently bobby has a tour coming up and it was brought into question how he can afford to do anything..i said isnt he married to whitney houston, and a friend replied "girl no!!!!!... they divorced 2 years ago blah blah blah.. didnt you know that omg you didnt know that it was like all over the place omg youre so out of touch"...hmmmm i guess i was too busy working and living my life... think about it..
I completely agree. I am 17 and I will be able to vote in the primary election because I will be 18 before November. I know more about Britney Spears and Jamie Lynn than the freaking Presidential Candidtates. What I do know about them came from looking it up on the net or talking to my parents, grandparents and people I work with.
Of course Britney had another break down. I would too if I was in her position. Jamie Lynn is pregnant. Well...DUH!! No offense to Britney, but look at some of the things she has done. Of course her sister is gonna be pregnant at a young age. But they are people too. And their mistakes shouldn't be put all over the tv for everyone to see. Let them make mistakes and learn from them in private.
