The Dangers of Drugs and Alcohol.

The rate of drug and alcohol abuse is rising more and more every day. Many people don't realize the all the dangers involved with using and abusing narcotics. Often, first time users try to escape from the problems that life has dealt them. Some, on the other hand, are just looking for the next high. In any case, the use of drugs and alcohol is dangerous. The first danger in drug and alcohol abuse is buying and selling. Drug and alcohol abuse can be expensive, even if the user is just beginning. Drugs can range between two dollars for even small amounts of harder narcotic drugs. Then there’s jail time to consider of caught with them. A user may face prison time of one to twenty-five years for just one offense. There could be more added with just one arrest. Endangerment, intent to sell, paraphernalia, possession, driving while intoxicated, and the list goes on. What started out as a onetime thing can change the plans they had made in life. Being convicted of these charges can result in school admissions, job placements, not to mention the amount of money that has to be paid for fines. It simply does not balance out. Then there’s addiction. Many believe they will not get addicted to drugs and alcohol, but many do and on the first time. Users begin to need the drug instead of just wanting it. Some may even go through withdrawals, experiences with dehydration, nausea, convulsions, and some have to be hospitalized and put in a rehab program. The unlucky will end up in a cemetery from an overdose or could result in death while driving under the influence of a controlled substance and could even take the lives of others. When you weigh the balance, it doesn’t equal out. So if you’re ever tempted or influenced to try drugs or alcohol, please, consider the consequences. It’s not worth it.
