As my first year of college came to a close, I began to get out more (again) and started hitting up some more movies. I came to realize even though some movies are darker in tone, they really put us at ease on ourselves, especially how bad off the world has come to these days. With gas prices nearing that of ticket prices (per gallon), I found myself at the movies more, taking the bus to the theater so I wouldn't have to buy gas. But, you might ask, "do you have proof that these summer movies make us Americans feel good?" Good question, dear reader...and the answer is yes.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: This movie, starring Harrison Ford, while different and unique, really was a comedy-action movie that showed America in the good days. Looking at the soda shops and colleges and life back then, it was a carefree time that made you feel good and a feeling that America hopefully will go back to live like these days.
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian: While darker than the first movie, it has a good theme. At the end, Narnia is saved and restored to its former glory. With a lot of biblical allusions in the movie, it might hint to how America is so out of whack, but things can turn around and be restored.
Kung Fu Panda: Po saved China. This movie just brings out the child in everyone, and it was funny. It was also my first iMax movie. It really makes you feel warm and fuzzy...and is why it's on this list.

Can anyone say escapism? Movies that don't make you think about the world around you abound...
At least you escape on the bus
eh
my documentary...
Wanna smile on the spot?
I saw the last two. I understand the whole "Feel good" euphoria after seeing a good movie. Maybe that's why I love movies so much. They're great while you're watching it, but afterwards you can still remember the excitement, the triumph, and even the heartbreaks that make a good story.
