Motorcycles Banned in Guangzhou

In the fast-growing city of Guangzhou where the air-pollution is equivalent to what factory chimneys spew out, the government is deciding to ban motorcycles. When they have something much greater and much more important to worry about, GZ decides to tackle and take down this mean of transportation.

As GZ backs up their decision, saying that they hope to decrease the rates of theft. They also want to take action against motorcycle gangs and smugglers. One must know that the traffic in Guang zhou is crazy! Unlike traffic in America, it is like rush hour in New York City times three. At times, supposedly three laned roads would be packed with five cars side mirror to side mirror. Despite such closeness with other cars along with the short-temper of many of the Chinese residents, there are few accidents. Cars come within inches of bicycles trying to squeeze through the side of the road and with people who are trying to cross the streets safely. Lights seem to catch no attention for cars seem to go forth when they feel like it, as if red meant go.

Anyway, the motorcycle ban also affects many of the business of migrant workers. Migrant workers in China go from city to city in hopes of making small amount of money to support their family and live. A large number drives motorcycles and taxis people from place to place. However, with this new edict, these migrant workers are going to have to find a new job. Tourists will no longer get to experience GZ like before.

In GZ, only 20% of residents feel safe. There are many petty thefts and a large number of thieves use motorcycles as a getaway vehicle, able to zip through and around into tight spots. I wish the United States would doing something about banning motorcycles or cars. Maybe limit the number of vehicles per household. We have to stop polluting and by taking out motorcycles off the road in GZ, they are my hero.

A little more investigation would make this a really good post. The last paragraph seems tacked on, because it needs more fleshing out. Sorry to get all English-teachery on you.
