I was so annoyed today to find that my dad doen't want me to leave, at least ive come to this conclusion. You see im trying to get into this private college that does cost mucho money, but for some reason, thats not holding me back...For i know that idont want to go there just to be another drunk, poor college student. I want to go to my college so i can learn to be a teacher, so i can teach kids to learn. This year ive rtecently descovered that it could be so much easier if i had just done better my freshman and sophmore years. So now i must pass it on, now i want to tell the kids of the future generations that yes you are here to learn...SO DO IT!!!...yes i know that sounds hard, but i want to make sur and know that their college admission process is a whole loat easier than it is for me! money who needs?

Well it sure looks as though you're in need for money... But in all honesty here, I've been through your situation before. Especially the grades part. I did horrible in high school, in fact, I graduated with a 2.1 cumulative GPA, which is basically a D average. I had to go to a community school to get into college, and when I did go to college, I only stayed for 1 semester.
I actually still haven't gone back and I'm 30 years old now.
But am I doing okay? I'm actually doing great.
You have great advice. Education is vital in becoming successful. Especially if you're going to be a teacher.
I wish you luck in your ventures.
I hat e how college cost people so much. I mean my family doesnt have a problem, but other family dont have to money for that kind of stuff. Can't they make a college where students can get atleast a minimum educations for an extremely low price? They could control who goes there by how much income or whatnot a family gets and their situations. Why are we not educating the rest of America? If its because of money, then we've become more of a helping hand to iraq then our own people.
Hi Ashley,
Well they already have those types of colleges, their called community colleges. And at the same don't forget that there are inexpensive trade colleges that one can attend such as mechanics school, art school, even pilot training. These colleges on average cost about 20K for all 2 years, very affordable given that the graduates are actually guaranteed average-high paying job when they graduate (30-50 dollars an hour, some even topping 250K a year...starting pay!!)
Remember, just because one doesn't attend college, doesn't mean he or she is not getting an education. There are self training books, apprenticeships, the list goes on and on. In other words, you don't need to go to college to learn. I myself dropped out of college after only one semester, and am currently a rather successful businessman. Most of what I know is self taught.
We should not expect the government to educate America, but for Americans to educate themselves. It is not their responsibility. Intelligence, is the responsibility of the individual.
There are always ways of finding money for school. There are always schools close to home that don't cost as much as private colleges. You should look into other options. Don't give up so easily! If there's a will, there's a way!
