Down with the Moral Majority

Within the last 8 years, it seems that the United States has taken a quick and severe turn down the Bible Lane. What is the United States trying to do? Fight religeous fanatics with religeous fantatics? That hasn't solved anything for the last two thousand years. How is it going to change now? Have the crusades meant nothing? Have all the pointless wars over "religeon" meant nothing? Shouldn't we understand by now that what we are fighting or arguing about shouldn't be religon? That's just an excuse leaders of nations and groups use to gain their own needs.

It angers me to no end when I hear about pharmasuticals refuse to give out birthcontrols or the abortion pill, just because it goes agains their religeon. That's great for them! :-D they can believe in whatever they want. They can have their own ethics, but they don't have to force them on other people.

Its great if someone believes in creationalism, that's awesome! but then I have a right to believe in the flying sphagetti monster that decided to make the world in 7 days instead of God. What we should be standing for is not a "Born-Again Christian Country", but we should stand up for what America was founded on. Freedom of Religeon, Freedom to think and be who we are. And that's a beautiful thing!

Let us not ruin it with religeous fever, for then we are no better than those who we spew hatred at.

Please, spell check your posts before posting them. It is not 'religeous', but rather 'religious'. Also, I think you're looking for 'Pharmacist', and not 'pharmaceutical'. The former implies a person, while the second implies a relation to the industry (pharmaceutical company).

I'm torn on some of these issues. On the one hand, we do have freedom of religion, and people should not be forced to do things against their moral standards. On the other hand, their decisions affect other people, sometimes in very serious ways, and they shouldn't be able to prevent those people from getting what they need.

What is the difference between slaves and being free? I am free to try and spread my religion and try to impose my view based on my religion on anyone I meet. You have the the freedom not to care or pay attention. Also you should care what someone believes. What if some one believed that anyone that was not born in the month of may should be dragged out in the street and beaten every hour on the hour. I am not ask you to believe in everything that the next person who will be charge believes because you will not nor would I. Do not ask me to hold my tongue and I will not ask you to hold yours.
