We are all based on the fixed template that is sheep-like, blind consumerism, and minor changes are made off of that template to give us the illusion that we're all different and unique; really, we are all based on the imaginary figure that the people running the world have created in order to tell us how to behave, and no matter how smart and enlightened you think you are, you are a part of that system, and there is very little you can do about it.
"Fixed Template." It's a poetic way of describing my frustration with the way the world seems to be. Fixed refers to something that is static and unchangeable. Template refers to something that is pre-made, and then changes are made to copies of it to create individual products based off of the original design.
Like HTML coding. Until I had it memorized, I had a document that said:
<a href="link">text</a>
That I would turn into:
Click here to go to my website
With just a few changes to the word "link" and the word "text."
In this case of why my blog is titled that, I am talking about how society, the media, corporations, the government, and the rich people in the world that control everything all expect us to be the same people.
Oh we all think we're different. Even us people who claim to be so "independent" of mainstream society. Of course I consider myself to be unlike all the other "sheep" in the world that just follow whatever MTV tells them to do. I laugh at that when I really think about it though, because am I really all that different? I buy the same clothes, I eat the same food, I use the same websites, I drink the same mass-marketed soda....
You know what? It probably is hopeless. I don't see how it's conceivable to expect to change everyone's stupid. The system is something that is so imbedded in society that it doesn't even seem possible to do anything about it.
And that is my frustration. That is all I think about. That is my life. That is the purpose of my entire 80-if-I'm-lucky years on this planet. That is the purpose of my blog. To vent. To share. To let the other people in the world that are thinking the same things as me know that they aren't alone in their frustration about the fact that we are unable as a single human being to change society.

Don't get me started...I HATE the government. I really do quite a bit. I don't see myself as a sheep, but like you said we don't really have a choice, but to buy what is on the market. I liked the title and at first i was like what? where is this going? Then I understood. I only use 2 websites except if I am shopping (but this is rare.) ProU and Youtube.com to listen to music.
I totally agree with your blog. You write very well also. This embraced your topic and made it more interesting. I totally understand where youare coming from though. I really do try to not confrom to society. I don't listen to the media because they screw up stories sometimes and once again I hate the government. I don't believe I am a sheep, but in reality no one could be a leader because of the barriers set up, that we can't knock down.

Love comments? I do too!
I agree. I don't think I'm a sheep either... but if the farmer's goal is to keep all the sheep within a fence, and you've got a small portion of them that don't hang around the other sheep and don't care about what the main group of sheep are doing... they are all still trapped in the fence.
No matter how rebellious a sheep is, it can't knock over a wooden fence. I wonder if even people like us who despise the government, don't give a damn about the media, and are annoyed by people that talk about nothing but drama and things that don't matter... are we even all that different?
You have people like us, who care about the government's injustice, and you have people who don't know or don't care. But unless we are actively doing something to fix our society, we are no different than them, because neither of us are taking action against a real problem. Just because we recognize issues doesn't mean we're making a difference about it.
I don't know how to make a difference.
If you go even further with the fence analogy, those sheep who wander the perimeter looking for flaws make the flaws noticeable to the farmer, who will then go fix them. Now, I guess the benefits of that depend on whether you like the fence or not. If you want the fence torn down so you can be a free-range sheep, it's not good to point out the flaws to the farmer. In that case, a sheep might want to look like they follow the herd and plot secretly...

You have to wait for that one sheep that has the ability to do something, anything about that fence. Or figure something out yourself. Simply rebelling against the farmer doesn't mean you're out of the fence.
