Wisdom Teeth

Has anyone ever had their wisdom teeth, all four, pulled out and were able to continue their lives normally the next day?
Today, I was approached by many people about the abnormal swelling of my face because of my extracted wisdom teeth.
Maybe it was my extreme tolerance for pain, but I felt I had no reason to not go to school. I went to school where many told me to go home, to go take a nap. But whats the point of wasting a day, a good 24 hour day just to sleep and complain about pain? I'd rather go to school, play charades with the people around me, and learn. I have the rest of my life to live and I won't let pain stand in my way!
Well, thats a rather dramatic statement, and a hard promise to follow.
The swelling in my face has gotten worse, but I'm not going to let that stand in my way!
I've heard about ballet performers who danced with a twisted ankle, and I've seen guard performers perform with a cast on. I know many say its impossible, but it isn't!
All you have to do to achieve this is to LIVE!
Yes, I do have an abnormally huge head at the moment, and yes, the pain is more than pain killers can kill. Times like this, I wonder why I was so upset at how long the numbing lasted, but then I realized, then that, that was the most horrifying thing that had come to my realization: I couldn't feel my face, I couldn't eat, drink, talk, only cry. I took 2 naps in that afternoon where I regained my ability to mumble words and feel my lips again.

I am so thankful for those at school who helped me throughout the day being my verbal translator, or who was just there to aid me in materials.

The Stitches seem to be restricting my mouth from talking, so I took it upon myself to learn American Sign Language (ASL) in the past hour. I'm not fluent, yet, but if this pain continues, I have my options.
Don't ever let anything hold you back because there's only 24 hours in a day, so live them all with no regrets and accept all the pains as signs that something good will come out of it.

Yeah, well, you handled it a lot better than I did. I had all four taken out at once, and I was out for 4 days, swollen, taking Vicodin and watching movies in 20 minute intervals in between two hour naps and living on vegetable soup and mashed potatoes.

It just depends on the person and how well they handle trauma to their bodies. It's not a bad thing to take a few days to rest sometimes. Yes, live, of course, but don't kill yourself for 24 hours. If you can go on living a normal daily life without the Vicodin, etc., go for it. But I know I was holding cotton balls in my mouth for at least 2 of those 4 days because the bleeding didn't stop. Those days are kind of hazy... but I remember a feeling of not being able to move... But your body needs rest sometimes. Don't overdo it. You'll pay for that later.

Good luck with the sign language thing. :)

I have to get mine extracted soon. I only have two but I am scared it is going to hurt!! And the worst part is I won't be able to eat much the next day.

Luckily, I had them removed during the summer. Like you, I was able to function pretty normally. I had a meeting, and built some sets. Admittedly, by the afternoon I was ready for a rest. Fortunately, the swelling wasn't that bad.
