so i was listen to a liberal talk show host yesterday, and a caller call saying that she is a lesbian, and that she as a person don't really care about what other people do in their bedroom, so she ask the talk show host why is it that conservative care so much about what people do in their bedroom, and the host said that will, to a conservative, morality is define by the indiviual, society dosn't determine a person moral but the indiviual whereas to a liberal, morality is define by the society and the community, to a liberal, if there are homeless and those that live in proverty among us, than that means that we are not moral, if our community is fill with homelessness and provery, than we are immoral.  i taught that it makes a lot of sense, and that is why (to me) conservative care so much about sexuality and homosexuality, because they believe that the indiviual is their own path to salvation, and if the indiviual enage in behavior that is consider sinful, than the morality of their community is threaten, that is also why some conservative are so against abortion, some might theorize that it is about life, but to some, it have to do with the indiviual, if that indiviual enage in a behavior out of their own free will, that person have an obligation to take care of that mistake, whereas to a liberal, they would said, will, it is because our community have fail to produce an effective and responsible citizen, thus we are must focus on bettering our community, so that they will become more moral.

so i wanted to ask people, conservative or liberal, what do you think define moral, the indiviual or the society, or both.

From what I see Conservatives don't really "care so much about sexuality and homosexuality". They just want sexuality to be left in the bedroom. They don't want homosexuality pushed in their faces as is happening now nor do they want other people teaching their children that homosexuality is normal, right & acceptable.

They want the ability to preserve and believe their own views on sexuality without someone else telling them that they are wrong, or trying to undermine the values they teach their children.

they seem to be of the school of thought that teaching someone about homosexuality (like children) will make them gay. That's like saying learning about safe sex in health class will make people promiscuous. Homosexuality is not a disease. It cannot be 'caught' by children.

There are a lot of gay people who kill themselves. Why? They're rejected from society and told they're an abomination. They believe no one will ever accept them.
So... the conservatives don't values the lives of gay Americans and would rather them die than just be content knowing the gays will later pay for some 'sins'.
These are the same people who think Tinky-Winky will turn children gay.

I have to disagree with the host. I consider myself liberal and I believe that only the individual defines morality. Every person has their own idea of marality, so to say that society defines morality is to say that morality is really just a matter of majority opinion.

The individual defines morality no matter what your political affiliation.

If individual definies morality, than I am not surprised the world is in flames...

Well then what do you think should define morality? Well besides Natural Law: Do not encroach on anyone or their property and Do all that you have agreed to do.
