Get a ticket-Kill a Cop...make it 2, and 3 people on the city council.

Just recently a man named Charles "Cookie" Thornton murdered 5 people, 2 cops, one councilwoman, one councilman, and one public works director, about 20 minutes from where i live because of tens of thousands (over 150 tickets to be exact) of dollars fined to him for parking his commercial vehicles in residential areas. He owned an asphalt and demolition company.

From what has been broadcasted, it was an ongoing problem. He would be fined one day and told to do one thing with the vehicles, do what he was told, and get another ticket for doing it incorrectly.

They arent giving too many details to the story (cnn.com-cookie thornton), but it seemed he reached the end of his rope and decided to rush into a city council meeting and take the lives of those who were injustly fining him.

Of course when you weigh out the odds... get a ticket-take a life, im not going to agree with what he did, and i've never wanted to murder because of a ticket, but i do understand his anger. I've gotten so many tickets and ive only had my license for 4 years, and i dont even speed..so sometimes its like "i hate cops !!!!! pigs pigs pigs!".. Just imagine getting 2 tickets a week for something equivalent to not wearing a seatbelt, except you did have yourseatbelt on but they call it " starting your engine before putting your seatbelt on (yes they always find loop holes)" and paying 20 times as much for it.

Plus...theres also the factor that this was a black man, in a predominantly white vicinity, but lets not make that the reason that he would get a ticket everytime he parked his vehicles 10 feet away from a firelane. I guess we can discuss that later. I'm just bringing to attention the fact that he got so many tickets so many times..and there had to be a real reason to it. Lets be realistic: If you get about 3 speeding tickets, youre about to get your license revoked. Apparently it works differently with parking tickets (however i think he was fined for other reasons as well) but seriously..over 150??? You would think they wouldve said he reached his limit after 20 or he'd serve a little jailtime or something...

Anyways i just wanted to know what you people thought about it.

Oh yeah, he was shot dead.

Typical. Just Typical. I respect the cops that put their lives on the line for real justice causes! But I do not understand why the traffic/parking police are even considered and given the same power as the others. Speeding and parking tickets are ridiculous and end up just taking money from people who aren't real criminals. Police have a kind of controlling power that regular citizens do not have at all, and it becomes something to be afraid of. They have the power to stop a car and fine up to 300 dollars to a person who might only have 300 dollars in their account for something so pointless as driving 7 miles over the speed limit while someone was getting robbed down the street. Of course the cops are too busy spending their time and money on traffic control, then actually working on true crime revolving the country. The system is faulty and I would love if it was improved on.
Basically I agree there is something wrong and peculiar about the justice system dealing with traffic/parking control.

I mean..this doesnt even compare but one day i was leaving from work and got a ticket for not putting my blinker on, when the guy next to me was goin about 75, he just hit his breaks and was free, i was goin 60..its like what the hell.

I do agree with speeding tickets to an extent because some people drive down the highway at 90 mph putting others lives at risk, but its little shit like this ya know? Little things that can cause people who cant handle it to go to killing.
