What is happening with our Airlines today. I know they are taking precautions at times for our safety, but who the "hell" wants to sit and wait in an airplane at JFK to not even take off for 14 hours. After the Jet Blue catastrophe, the JFK airport was happy to follow with the stranding of hundreds of people.
I am in full support for a need of a Passenger Bill of Rights and as the airlines are charging nickel and dime for everything they at least need to give people some sort of satisfaction. Due to snowstorms at JFK airport, people were stranded in their airplanes and airline canceled their flights. At a moments notice, Jetblue quickly canceled 400 flights as they didn't want to get screwed again . People in my opinion should be provided some sort of way of getting off the plane and being returned back to the airport. It is ridiculous for people to have to be in a cramped airplane for 14 hours, as Royal Air Maroc kept one plane full of passengers on the tarmac for nearly 14 hours. The seats aren't very comfortable, and looking at the seat in front of you isn't very entertaining. Im surprised people don't "die" waiting in the airplane.
The government needs to give people rights, as this would put pressure on airlines to honor your rights and would help appease the satisfaction of its consumers.
After reading this, you might want to think twice about getting coach seats instead of FIRST CLASS. Those first class seats would really be worth the extra cash as you would be lavished with a comfortble seat and its benefits.
