Ladies and Gentlemen,
Men and women weren't created equal. Men tend to build muscle better than women. Women are able to give birth while men aren't. Numerous studies have shown that men and women have different psychological patterns and aspects (though I'll be the first to admit I don't actually know what those differences are offhand). Equality between men and women isn't really what feminists are about. Feminists are about equal opportunities, period. Let me dispel some myths:
1) feminism does not mean "man-hating." for that matter, neither does lesbianism.
2) feminists don't make it a rule to burn bras and stop shaving
3) feminism can be a quiet philosophy
There are men who write better than I do, men who swim faster than I do, men who make better financial decisions. However, if women aren't given the same opportunities that men are in life, those women who are better than men at certain tasks won't be able to compete.

but while men and women ARE different, we should focus on our common humanity and not the biological differences between the sexes.

Yeah, it would be a very short argument if one tried to say that women and men are not biologically different. Is one better than the other? No. There is the equality.
pretty good article relating to this topic

So then: women should have the equal opportunity to join the infantry and get themselves and their comrades blown up despite the fact that (all we who have common sense know) females are far more emotional and rarely contain the snap-logic of men? Women should govern the world in the unrealistic flower power world of love and peace for the sake of competition?
The differences naturally inherited by men and women have served women women's greatest before "equal rights" was pushed. The women stood behind the men, true- in the fact that men consulted the wife in most things before taking action. Things like voting and homecare were done as a unit. They used to be treated as two halves to a whole, and that DifferencE was recognized as such in the functions of each half. A heart can't function like a brain.
Furthermore, women had several rights that men didn't- they governed the home, educated the children, controlled the finances, and influenced the men. Not only did they hold a certain power OveR the men, they were cared for, protected, and held as equals.
Women, it appears by their actions and rallies, want to have all of the same abilities and take the same "actions" as men, but they don't want the responsibilty that a man has for those actions. "But I'm a woman..." is an excuse I hear rattled so often that it's numbing. If a woman wants to be treated like a man, she needs to act like one. If a woman wants to be treated like a woman, she needs to act like one.
But then again, with its own movement and society trying to unisex everyone, its difficult in a whole other way. But then we begin an argument of divorce, marriage, children having children, the ridiculous cost of living, etc.
I'm not trying to be offensive or anything; only, I do get a wee passionate in response sometimes.

"I don't care" ....
is a serious misreading of my attitude.
I hear what you are saying RedEyedRaven; but I really don't want to be treated like a woman or a man...I just want to be treated with respect, like any human.
So far in my life, because of my breasts, vagina, etc, I have not been...
I have been sexually harassed (usually on a daily basis,) been treated like an object, been talked down to, been told "shut up you're just PMSing..." (that last one usually by other women, by the way.) I have had grown men tell me things like "I better not hurt you, you're daddy would kill me..." (I'm twenty five and I take care of myself, thank you very much!) I'm tried of being only three things: a) a girl who needs looking after b) a bitch because I speak my mind or c) a crazy person because I'm obviously "hormonal" (people who make that comment seem to think men don't have hormones!) Women are women; we are not girls, sex objects, something for daddy/husband/boyfriend to protect, baby makers or any of the other labels men and women try to give us!

The term "all men {humans} are created equal," is used not to define physiology between the sexes but instead to dictate that all men {humans} have the same rights. This is a moot point, you took the words out of context.
Where is my revolution?
Women and men are a lot different, but we are more ALIKE then we are different. So why do so many people focus on our differences? Also, our differences seem to be more positive when aimed toward men, and more negative when aimed towards women: When women reverse it, we are labeled "man-haters". (not true) Also, in our more modern information age, there is less physical labor needed and more intellectual and intelligent labor. This is where men and women are very much the same. The more our workforce focuses on intelligence vs, physical labor, the more power women have. It is just sad that some men can't accept it or respect us.
-And maybe women should rule the world with"flower-power" and love! haha, We would all be much better off! After all, Sun Tzu's famous "Art of War" philosophy was how to gain victory with the least amount of conflict. Women are great at that : )
