kids throwing away their futures!

I find it aggravating that I can surpass students academically because they do not show their full potential. I do not get how they can not care about their future and how thier actions can effect it. I should be happy right, because I can have a better chance at getting the scholarships right? I don't think so, I like competition and I want to win the right way.

I know a girl who is smarter than me at my school yet she does not even bother to turn in her work and she is failing all her classes. She talks too much and goes on carefree. Then, it is sad when a friend has a scholarship and blows it off when others could have had that scholarship. Why do some people have to be so ignorant. I wish I can open people's eyes and have them realize that they can accomplish a lot.

If you have the potential to impact her life drastically for the better than do it. I say grasp every opportunity you can get, instead of letting it waste away. If you are intelligent flaunt it instead of hide it. If you have athletic abilities do not be afraid of physical contact to keep you from showing your potential.

No matter what you do in life you are still living it, and living it neither better nor worse than any other human. What you see as opportunities another may see as a waste of time. Sometimes it is sad to see people not live up to what you feel they are capable of, but try not to be so judgmental.

Yes, I will continue to strive to do my best. However, I still want to show other people what they can accomplish.

I wouldn't worry too much about the slacker who is smart but just doesn't try. After my third year of college, I realize that eventually, most of those people will come around and start realizing their potential.

Trust me, things change when high school is over, and most people realize it and change their ways eventually.

Thank you for giving me a perspective that I would never have arrived to on my own because I do not have the experience past high school to have arrived to it.

As much as it is a shame that people do not try harder for their future it is their choice. They do not feel that school (high school especially) is much of a preparation for the future. If they do not want to work now, they won't want to work in college or in real life. Besides, smart people may not have any interest in using their intelligence in the future, nor does intelligence determine the success of a person. Many successful people do not finish high school or college, and many highly intelligent people chose to do a technical job instead of becoming a scientist or engineer.

I realize that there is no level of intelligence. I understand that slackers sometimes achieve success on a different kind of level. People have their choices in life and sometimes I think they become unruly.
