Bring Out the Vote!

Election Day is coming so quickly I almost forgot about it. Everybody get out to vote! I hope you all are already registered and have been reading up on your candidates. It's terrible to have low turnouts but uninformed voting is arguably even worse.

Maybe that's how we got President Bush reelected. You know, when that happened, I asked myself: What kind of country reelects a president like that? If Bush can win again with his horrible rep with everything, is it even possible for an incumbant to lose?

Perhaps the problem was that so many people were anti-Bush that they all thought their fellow "Bush Haters" will be voting. Before they knew it, lo and behold--he won again, with a greater margin, if I recall correctly. I guess John Kerry wasn't too great of an alternative, despite having the initial JFK. But wouldn't anyone be better than a president painted as a liar, cheater, big oil supporter, child-leave-behind-er, Iraq hater, war mongerer, half wit, crack head....etc.? I'm not saying any of this is true; these are just the ways in which mass media portrayed him.

Anyway, Bush 2004 is over. Let's worry about taking back the government for a progressive future! We need to go out there and let our beliefs sound by votes. We need to make the politicians see that the youth of this country do care about law and policy. We need to show our strength, and that strength comes in numbers. Let's hit the polls and rock the election!
