Most students graduating from high school don't have a clue of what they want to do with the rest of their lives. All they know that is they are pressured to go to a university, get good grades, and graduate with a degree that will make them successful and wealthy. Although all of that is a something everyone should strive to achieve, some students just aren't ready for all of that pressure right out of high school. I think that community college is a great way to get started on the next chapter of your education if you are one of those people not ready to go to university. First of all, it is much cheaper than going away to college and living in the dorms. Also it provides the same education as any other college. Although on the bad side... you are missing out on the little things that come along with going away to college, you can still take advantage of all of your friends who did go away and visit them, and look at different colleges you might want to eventually transfer to. Overall, I believe that community college is very beneficial to a student, and can give you the time to figure out what you want to do in your life, and also save you alot of money.
community college is a good choice....

Even though attending community colleges might be cheaper, it might not be the case for some people because of the registration fee, technology fee, student service fee, and so on.
I agree that Community College is a wise choice for a student to start out with if they are not sure what they want to be when they grow up. It is cheaper and affords the student to live off campus.
I learned from experience to have a son go through 3 years of college at a state college and decide that this is not what he wanted in life. My daughter will be starting out at a local comunity college.
College is a tough issue everyone must face at some point with cost rising its hard. check out my blog on this matter:

I agree with on how community college is a great starting point from the undecided. I just posted a an article in my blog about the ridicule people receive for going to Junior College:

I agree that it is a great option for some, but I don't agree that the education is the same. I teach college chemistry classes, and the students that transfer in from Community colleges that have taken chemistry there are way behind the rest of the class. If you do choose community college, my advice would be to take your classes that don't relate to your major there and save the major classes for university.
