Help Out Other Bloggers

Tagged:

Just out of curiosity, and to help everyone on the site, when you look at a blog:

1)What is the first thing you look for before you begin to read?

2) What is the maximum number of paragraphs you see before you think to yourself "This is way to long. It can't be that important," and skip over it?

3) What sort of topics are you most interested to read about and see others opinions?

4) (Any other helpful information)

My answers:

1) Title

2) 3-4 (medium size paragraphs)

3) Current events on political/world issues, philosophies on life, and unusual personal experiences

4) I like posts that have a relatively high "skim" value (such as using lists, small paragraphs, and good topic sentences, ect) so I can get to the point quickly and decide if I should read more in depth.

I am not a site-runner. I was just curious to find out how I, and others, can make our blogs better.

Thanks for posting this. It's nice to see someone who will come out and say exactly what they would look for.

I tend to read and write all kinds of blogs on various subjects; the lengths vary but if they keep my attention, I don't mind how long they are.

I don't usually care about the titles, at least, it's not the first thing I look at. I do look at formatting and ease of readability. If every thing is jumbled up together and I find that I have to concentrate hard just to read, I tend to skip it.
