In Christianity the Ten Commandments and all the laws and statutes hang on these three principals:
1. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and might
2.Love your neighbor as you love your self
3.Love your enemies
I know a female who was molested, raped, abused in relationships, extorted for thousands of dollars her family betrayed her, the man she loved cheated on her with her own ex-friends and one of her family members and she sees these people all the time and shows them love like nothing ever happened and I don't know how she does it. Even to this day most of the people in her life have taken advantage of her and she has confessed to forgiving them and loving them, but they also are uneasy at times when they are around her, I believe they fear that one day she is going to try to retaliate for all the wrong that has been done her. I personally believe just by the way that she talks that she believes that there is something in her future that is going to blow the minds of everyone that she knows, but I know the type of person she is retaliation is not a thought in her mind. What do you think about this situation do you think that she knows something we don't know about love and forgiveness?

I think that the person you describe is in an unhealthy situation. It's one thing to forgive, but if you never do anything about the wrongs that people inflict on you, they'll just keep inflicting wrongs.

Supose that when you give you expect nothing in return, but merely give because you want to. Giving because you expect something in return creates most of the resentment people base alot of their hatred on.
How can anyone steal anything from you if you are ready and willing to give it for free?
Your freind may not be this way, but the most loving, forgiving people, that I have had the pleasure to have known, are. None of those people have had any great power or wealth, in fact they have been poor and hard working. Interestingly, they have also been happier than any of the rich people I know.
