Criticism

Have you ever noticed how people tend to find it much easier to point their finger and say that you are wrong but they find it quite difficult to point their finger and say you are right! As soon as someone does something wrong everyone who knows that person sits around gossiping about what they did wrong and how they would have done something different and so on so on, all to eager to spread the trash. Whereas when someone does something good or nice everyone tends to doubt that they actually did what they did out of kindness but had some other motive or they doubt that they even did it. It is so incredibly frustrating to see the world filled with people like this who prefer to doubt than have faith. I have found through experience that when I have faith in my friends that what they are telling me is the truth and if I do not judge others based on things that I have heard, not only am I happier but so are the people I believe in. Next time you hear something bad about someone...do not take it to heart and do not use it against them.

There's a quote I like to use when people start doing things like that, especially if they're just saying things like "that's terrible, I could have done better."

"Criticism comes easier than craftsmanship." ----Zeuxis, Pliny the Elder (about 400 BCE)

And in looking up the author of that quote, since I forgot, I found a whole slew of criticism-related quotes

This one's just funny:
"Unless a reviewer has the courage to give you unqualified praise, I say ignore the bastard." --John Steinbeck

Perfect quote I think I'm going to copy that quote and hang it up in my locker at school. I almost fell out my seat when I read this

I just played the hand I was dealt..... I'm just playin to win ;-) (rapper 2Pac)

Taking this a step I ask myself:
What have I created?
What have I criticized and destroyed?

The answers are quite scary.
Take this one from a FUNERAL GUY.

It is obvious, and sad that we live that way.
I'm not sure if anyone has read any books by Jay McGraw or Sean...gah I can't remember his last name. But they both write self help books.
Anyways, they both stated that our society has been born, raised, and taught to compete. Whether we want to admit it or not, we almost all have a bit of competition in our blood. Therefore, the reason we don't point the finger and say you are right, is because whether we know it or not...it's because we selfishly want to be right.
Welcome to the United States. Hmph. Competition...it's a killer.
