Now you're going to tell me what to eat...

So, not many people know this about me but I’m a vegetarian and an organic person in general. Not a vegan, but a vegetarian. Many people start in as soon as they hear this with the: “I could never be a vegetarian”, “Why? Because you think meat is gross?” and “Oh gosh, I hate people like you that tell me what to eat and not to eat.” Which just makes me upset, when was the last time I made a post on how it’s wrong to eat meat and you’re all going to hell…okay…that’s over the top but you see what I’m getting at.

I chose to be a vegetarian, not because meat is disgusting to be but because of the health benefits of being a vegetarian.

Side note: If you have never tried a vegetarian burrito from Chipotle I urge you to, it’s the most amazing experience ever, you get all the flavors you miss by putting the spicy meat or whatever onto it.

Okay, going back, my father is diabetic, and for some reason it seems his mother had the same problems but none of his siblings did. It seems the eldest child takes on this horrid genetic disability, so here’s two possibilities for the future: Someone in my immediate family has it or one of my older sisters may have it, or we may all be lucky and no one will ever have these same problems. Yes—so to combat my horrid genetics I decided on dropping the meat in my diet, one of the best things to drop if you’re diabetic, and go for the vegetarian me.

I thought I couldn’t do it either, but I did, and I don’t mind it now but I encourage you all to try something to be a bit more “organic”, buy paper towels made out of recycled paper, I promise you it’ll help out a bit. Along with this I ask you, next time you hear someone say “I’m a vegetarian” don’t start with the “I cold never be…” conversation, don’t look at us weird, don’t think we’re going to tell you what to eat and what not to eat, be supportive.
Thank you,
The vegetable people.

I agree, I just had to defend one of my posts against someone who claimed that there are nutrients in animals that you can't get anywhere else. Lol. makes me wonder where they think these nutrients are originally coming from. I get the whole "I could never be a vegetarian" thing a lot. I usually reply with something like "I could never eat meat after knowing the pain these animals have gone through if it didn't prevent me from survival" and send them a PETA video the next day.

Disclaimer: I don't agree with all of PETA's agenda, but some of their undercover videos do promote awareness for the animals' conditions and treatment before being consumed. The fur videos are also compelling- I never had a concern for the fur industry until I watched one, and now I only wear/buy faux.

Cheers!
