We've got a couple of changes, some updates, good news, bad news. Since we want you to know the important stuff first, we'll get the bad news out of the way.
Bogus Nominations
We had never had a problem with these until the beginning of this contest, so we've enacted a new policy. For featured blogger submissions, we've recently had a number of bogus nominations (people nominating themselves, while claiming to be someone else). As such, we've come to the decision that if we find that you have sent in a bogus nomination (one that's invalid), we will remove you from the contest. We're not kidding, we're not stupid, don't think we are. The PUAA Faculty consists of many of the users who've spent hundreds of hours trying to maintain this site. Only nominate other users, don't nominate yourselves.
Creative Writing Bonus Op!
Since the start of the Creative Writing Site, we've had an influx of writing, both progressive and otherwise, where users have been able to write and share ideas. However, we're not associating the CW site with points, directly. Instead, we will hold periodic contests there that will count for points here. And as the veteran users know, every point counts.
For our first contest, we're holding a short story writing competition. The game: Write a story (or poem) using only 50 different words. You can repeat the words as many times as you want, but you can only have 50 different words. For more information, visit the CW site here. Your log-on info for the main site works on the CW site, too. If you've got questions, ask us at: info[at]progressiveu.org

We need you all to nominate bloggers. That is all you; we just Feature who you tell us to. Plus, if your nomination gets a blogger featured, you get 100 points! What's simpler than that? If you see a problematic posting, flag it so we can try and sort out the problems. If you're looking for something to read, check out the Choice Picks page. You can also suggest posts for that page by emailing/PMing Nicholas Aden
We've got a couple of other fun challenges, bonus ops, features, etc. in the works, but in the meantime, we urge everyone to have fun with what we've got. Between debating ethics and morality to legislating the physics of the specific heat of water (4.184 kJ/kg*K), writing the next "Cat in the Hat," or even writing about how the RIAA is slowly destroying the music industry, you've got a lot to do.
Good luck to everyone. One month down, several to go. Happy Blogging!

The nominating of blogs is a pretty awesome feature, but I'm not really sure what specifically we are looking for in nominating a blog. Is it about having a unique topic, point of view, etc.? Other than that it sounds great.
You are nominating bloggers, not blogs. So no, they don't have to blog on a specific topic, and they don't have to have a point of view. We will not approve any nominations of those who have major grammatical errors (writing all their blogs in all caps, or no caps, etc), or those who have recent violations of the Terms of Use. Other than that, we're pretty open to nominations. I think we've only rejected a handful of people.

What a wild idea to debate 'evolution'. Now that's progress.
