Hillary Clinton Backing Off?

SimplyxEva's picture

I was watching the presidential Texas Democratic debate between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. I was surprised to find that Hillary was not being aggressive in the debate, but rather she seemed to be backing off. Has Hillary given up already? I never understood why her campaign lost steam. I myself am a Hillary supporter, so it rather saddens me to see her not as aggressive and all her support dwindle away slowly.

Is Obama gaining so much support because America in general is sexist? I don't have anything against Obama, yet I think Hillary has more experience in the political realm and is much more qualified to be our president.

John McCain is definitely not any better as a choice for a president, since he has too much rumors and affairs already, and he's not even president yet! If he were to be our president, then former president Bill Clinton was wrongly impeached when he supposedly had an affair with Monica Lewinsky. And yes, I am a democrat, so pardon my bias.

So who do you think would make the best president? A woman with political experience? A black man with great charisma? Or an old man with tons of rumors and secrets? Take your pick while I take mine. :]

I don't think she was backing off so much as you say. I thought they both spoke eloquently.

The one thing she said which showed that she's not backing off was her "Change we can xerox" line.

But I thought Americans were supposed to be racist? (/snark) This race should not be reduced to identity politics, and I don't think that our president is being decided based off of race or gender. And I respect your opinion that Hillary has more experience, but experience isn't always a good thing in politics. No one was more experienced than Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney, and we all know how they used their experience. And also, Obama has had 11 years experience being a legislator, while Hillary has had 7 years.

I don't think she was backing off at all. She performed very well last night. I think it was more of CNN cutting her off, more than they cut him off. There were plenty of times he made accusations about her past and she never got to respond. Her closing argument was pretty awesome as well.

I think Hillary is too critical of other people and wastes time trying to make Obama look bad. For this reason I have stopped supporting her. I have done more research on Obama and I think he is plenty qualified. He is just way too uplifting and spirited and hopeful to lose the presidency. He represents hope and unity. He can change the face of America to the world so other countries don't think we are arrogant and rude like we are.
