The Iraqi president denies civil war in Iraq but asks for help defeating terrorists. Iraqi President Jalal Talabani says that U.S. troops should stay for tree more years in Iraq. The president claims that there is no civil war but that he needs troops to keep peace while his forces settle in. The Iraq situation is getting out of control. THREE MORE YEARS!!
Hopefully the republicans will lose control of the house and senate in the upcoming elections and we will be able to do something about this situation but something needs to be done fast. The longer we stay in Iraq the more terrorist are created it is a vicious cirlce, we will never get out of Iraq at this rate.

Pulling out now would be a failure in so many ways. For one, there is a very good chance the new Iraqi government would just collapse. The last thing we need is to give up and have Iran interfere or some extremist government running another anti-American nation. Claiming "victory" over America would be an incredible way to recruit even more members to these terrorist groups. They would be shown that they could outlast us, endure whatever we throw at them for years, and force us to leave. Sure, the fact we are there will cause hate against us but hate will not go away, even if our armed forces go away.
Is now the time to give up? To submit to our enemies? To retreat and leave a fledgling nation to the sharks? Why do people want to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory? The war goes better than many would like to admit, but hey bad news is good news for the media.
No war is desirable, but three years of war now is better than many years down the road.
