Iraq, George Bush's blunder that has caused the demise of his cabinets credibiltity, is as you all know a "civil" war between Shittes and Sunnis. The death squads, suicide bombers, and insurgents have become common in Iraq and have caused instability thorughout the country.
The "Surge" in my opinion (yours of course may differ) is an excuse for Bush to continue his war and try to regain stability in Iraq through unneccessary sacrifices of our soldiers. Based on his actions, he cannot bear to see any failure in the war and his own reputation, which has basically gone to "hell." How ignorant can he be with our soldiers continuing to die in a war that we cannot quell. He doesn't even recognize the war as a civil war. What the 'hell" is he thinking, our troops are stuck in the middle of a CIVIL war, with the dangers of suicide bombers and a growing amount of extremists.
The "Surge" will increase troop levels, but is c. 22,000 enough? The brave and courageous branches of our military our the elites of the world and our very disciplined, but they are now being put into a positon as trainers and security guards in the dangerous Middle East. Our military cannot clear every neighborhood in Baghdad and if they do they would have to leave soldiers in those areas to keep the peace. This isnt possible because of troop numbers. Baghdad is a huge city for our small amount of soldiers to cover. Remember Baghdad is only one city. To quell the sectarian violence is almost impossibe and I hope that our soldiers our safe in fighting for the endeavors of our ignorant President. As the British pull out, we need to follow as well. Civil war is the only cure to Iraq as it was for the United States when they had their civil war.
I pray for our soldiers and I will honor our flag with our soldiers in my heart.
