Alot of people have family members over seas this year and years before. Many people have never said thank you to our troops.
I have written a poem to start out this awesome blog by thanking all of our troops out there. here it is:
Army Prayer
What ever our Soldiers go,
May we give them our strength .
What ever our Soldiers go,
May we remember them like they are here among us.
What ever our Soldiers do,
May we give them our loyal support.
What every our Soldiers do,
May we give them our kindness.
May the heart prints of Americans compassion
Go to our Soldiers.
May my heart touch a lonely soul,
Or thousands of souls.
But Lord, send out our prayer today
To leave hope in the world.
For all citizens of the world
As hope is what we dream of.
But if someone should say
I dreamed of your prayer
May that Soldiers sense YOURS PRAYER

I want to thank the troops by not sending more over to Iraq. They've worked so hard for the American people, only to be killed mercilessly in an ideological war that shouldn't have been solved using military force in the first place. To me, truly thanking our troops would be bringing them home.

I must say that I agree with you. We are not necessarily serving a purpose over there anymore, at least not in my eyes, and, for the matter, the eyes of a good majority of my friends who are deployed over there or stationed somewhere that is not a combat zone. What our Commander in Chief does not realize is that staying over there isn't going to make people believe that a democracy is the best. As soon as we pull out of there, the government, or lack thereof, will revert back to how it was before.
I agree. Forcing people to see how "great" our country is won't work. We have to show them, and promoting violence will not prove to anyone that our country is a great place to live.

I too would like to thank the troops. My way of doing this is by writing letters to troops overseas (obtained through www.anymarine.com or www.anysoldier.com) thanking them personally for everything that they do for us. Also, My schools Support Our Soldiers club is making packages to send over. (We've already written letters to family members and alumni overseas.) I am a firm believer that even if you do not support the war, you should always support our troops.
As a soldier in the United States Army, I am glad to see that people are still supporting us. It is amazing, the number of people who think that just because we wear a uniform we are going over there and killing babies for the fun of it, or we are purposely torturing people in prisons. Just because a few people make some bad decisions, the entire Army gets the blame for it. But hey, that's society today. I don't support the war, but I support the ten people I know over there right now. And I would like to say thank you for sending out letters and care packages because you all don't know how much that means to them. It is such a morale booster. Thanks again everyone.
I'm glad you guys enjoy the support. I wish more people would realize that even the people in the military aren't necessarily supporters of war. I think a lot of people join the military as a job opportunity, not because they like war.

I agree with the thanking them. It seems like sometimes the U.S. are the only willing to help. No one wants to get in the way of a country or involved in the system there but in this case i agreed. Now I wish that not so many of my friends and family members had to be a part of it but that is necessary as well. So with that said all there is to due is thank them.
