Recently my friend and I have been looking for a job.  We applied at about fourteen different places, and have only been on two job interviews.  The first place that gave us an interview said they would call us back, its been about a month and no call.  We went back into the store to ask if our applications were being processed and the manager said that she had not had time to review the applications because she had lots of work to do.  I don't know about her but, common sense if you have a lot of work, you would try to get workers as soon as possible, and not when there is no more work to do.  The other place that gave us an interview told us they would call us back, but no call yet.  We met a guy at the mall who told us that the reason we weren't getting a job was because we were presenting ourselve with our binders.  So I ask for your opinion....

Why do you think we aren't getting the job?

Do you have any suggestions that would help me/ us get a job?

Just keep trying. You're in one of those dreadful Catch-22 situations, which I really hate. I know what it's like to not be able to get a job. I remember when I was trying to get my first job. I kept thinking the same thing you are. "How am I supposed to get a job," and "D@MN CATCH-22!" heheh! I applied for countless jobs and had a plethora of interviews. I also had a lot of people say they would call me when they had no intention whatsoever of doing so. All I can really think of at the moment is to just keep pluging away at it. That's what I did. Keep looking for a job, and applying everywhere. When possible see the managers in person when you apply, instead of applying online or giving your application to one of their little flunkies. lol! Find out if there are going to be any local job fairs, and attend them. And don't worry too much about your looking perfect for the interveiw, but make sure you "dress for success." By that, I mean, look neat and clean...

Don't forget to relax, and remember, as Polonius advised his son Laertes to travel abroad: "to thine own self be true," (Hamlet by William Shakespeare).
