Myspace > facebook

I have a myspace and a facebook, so i have experience all of them. The reasons why i think myspace is so muce more better than facebook is because you can enjoy changing different layouts, post pictures that can go along with your layout, unique comment box, songs that automatically plays, clean view, privacy on comments, msgs, and whatever you've done to your friends or what got sent to you.

On facebook, whatever you have done to others or what others sent you will appear on your pg. It is a total invasion of privacy. Okay, even though the comments are public, I do not want EVERYONE that goes on my facebook page to know whom and whom have i sent stuff to. Also, i do not get to experience the fun layouts and graphics myspace has to offer me.

But there are some stuff on facebook that i like:

1. fun surveys and applications

2. pets

3. identifying pple in your pictures (now myspace has that feature too!)

but despite all these, i still like myspace better :) but no offense or anything to facebook, in fact, i still use it, just not as often.

i agree, i love love love myspace. i mean who doesn't really have a myspace? but, i love facebook too.. alot of my college friends have facebook- so i keep in touch with them on that.

but, it is hard because i've had a myspace since 04. when not alot of people had one (at least they didn't here) then i went to high school, and everyone started getting them. which to me made them overrated.

facebook was nice, it's way more private. you dont have to set your page to private - if they're not your friend they can't look at you page.

i think- both are great for different reasons. and i'm very happy i have them both! :]

haha yeah that's true, i've had my myspace longer than i had my facebook and i think another reason why i like myspace better is because i have more friends on it. maybe i'm just used to myspace? but there are pros and cons to everything. :)

You can still see others' profiles on Facebook when you are not their friend. It depends on their settings.

It's not an invasion of privacy if you choose to have a Facebook profile. And you can edit your privacy settings.

I'm not entirely certain how this has anything to do with promoting progressive values, but I suppose it's worth reminding people that the person who owns MySpace is the same person who owns Fox News - the anti-progressive "news" outlet that functions as little more than the Domestic Propaganda arm of the Ultra-Right-Wing of the Republican Party.

On a purely personal note, I think that MySpace is a black hole of design and aesthetics. Why there has not been a top-to-bottom redesign of that site is beyond me. It's a Pocket Pager in a Smartphone world.

i think they are both very cool :)

myspace is RIDICULOUS!
facebook no one can look on your profile unless you kno them
plus if you want to get rid of what is shown on your profile you just hit the X above the application and it DISSAPPEARS
...magic! lol

You can change your myspace profile to private as well.

I don't understand the 'invasion of privacy' bit.

If you publish information online.... in what way are you thinking it is private?

If a person doesn't want other people to know that they are the one eyed guy with brown hair living at 123 Any Street in Washington DC..... don't put it online.

Here's a rule: Never publish online what you wouldn't want shown on the local evening news, with your picture next to it.

Agreed. Also, employers, teachers, and even your family can access the information. Private stuff can get hacked, and you never know what your "friends are showing to others.

I used to have both and here are my views:

If you try to look me up on facebook you can only see my profile pic, my college network and when I graduate. If you click one of the links you can also see who my friends are. That is it unless I accept you as a friend.

When I had myspace, even though my profile was on the highest privacy settings you could search my profile name, real name, or e-mail and get pieces of information that I had said could only be seen by my friends. I know, my mother brought that to my attention last year. I immediately deleted it.

I fully agree that anything you put on the internet you are saying isn't private, but if I say no one can see something without my permission then the website should respect that. Myspace did not.

Right, but if you don't want that information to be known, don't put it online at all

another rule: If you don't want a child molesting stalker to see it, don't put it online.

I agree. Even with the privacy settings, sites can be hacked and your "friends" can show things to others.

Facebook is for your school.

Myspace is for everyone else :).

unfortunately not any more, and that makes me sad.

Member of the Progressive U Alumni Association

the sad part is, they are so easily compared. member when facebook was different and unique. member when it was just a way to stay connected with college friends and high school friends who went their separate ways for college. myspace was for socializing and ramblings

...least there is not porn spamming of facebook yet.

I agree. I liked it a lot better when it was only for college students. Now, most of the features are being targeted towards a younger audience.

I absolutely agree with everything u said about facebook and myspace... and

the other thing i like about facebook is ... the fact that it's mostly for college students or for students about to go to college soon. and u get to keep in touch with friends you've lost touch with through facebook. especially those who don't have myspace ... but have facebook.
