Business of education

No matter how much a college wants to come off as student friendly, colleges today are pretty much run as a business. Expensive courses, large amounts of basic requirements, and many students not getting out until after 5 years, even if they were origionally going for a four year plan. And the FAFSA doesn't seem to help much for a lot of these people, as what is expected to be contributed by the student is oftem much larger than reality. I know my parents can't afford to pay $14,000 a year for me to go to college, unless they wanted to be homeless. The burden lies on the student to try to get as much money as he or she can to pay that monster of a tuition, which keeps going up. After my first year in college, I felt like my college only saw me as a number.

College is not run as a business. Mine only charges 26 per class. How do you expect them to pay for the teachers?
