The Beginning

Let new life come!! Let your minds be opened to a brand new World, filled with tales of horror and delight as you read my deep and meaningless thoughts that are useless to society! Would you like an explanation as to my name? If you would, keep on reading, if not, close this window and go play a game or something, what do I care!?

Potevu is Swahili, which is an African dialect, spoken mostly in Kenya. It is a beautiful language, as well as an ancient one. It is also one that I heard quite often (although I did not learn a word of it) while I lived in Kenya for two years. In that amount of time I fell in love with the country and the people of that nation. Unfortunately I had to leave the place that I love, and without my friends, and what I had come to regard as the norm I felt lost.

Lost, that is the meaning of Potevu. I am lost, and I feel that humanity is lost as well. 6 billion people running around in circles, looking for something that they love, something they might have already found and lost, or something that is yet to be discovered. How many though, actually realize they are lost? How many go through life, accepting the fact that this is their lot that was cast to them? Accepting the fact that they HAVE to go to work every day to enjoy life, grinding their minuscule amount of time on this Earth away, ever so slowly. How many, even if they recognize they are lost, are able to escape from it all? Try as they might, it is nearly impossible to escape from the routine that OUR society had defined as "normal". We are building our own Hell, even while we are trying to establish our own little piece of paradise for ourselves.
