A butterfly's beauty comes not only from it's attractivce colors and symmetrical shapes;it's deeper than that. Would we still think of it as beautiful without the mystery it undergoes; metamorphosis. I believe progress, is in a way, the change and struggles we all have to live in order to be shaped into the humans we are now. Without change we would never break barriers. Without struggle we would never learn to appreciate. Without curiosity we would never explore. Without experience we would never learn. Like caterpillars we all confront change in our lives, usually more than once. Weather we change physically emotionally or mentally we all do it at our own time, it's never too late to improve or awaken. Progress is a cycle itself. Even at knowing your going to fail, the very strength you have to move forward and keep fighting is progress. A caterpillar at time of transformation may think it's the end of life or so it may seem then and there. It is through a grieving process in which we become more aware of a deeper meaning. Progress is being able to open our minds. Knowing not to let our culture, background, age, sex, physical appearance and morals get in the way of absorbing others perspectives is progress. Even the butterfly who's fate is already sealed never stops, at the end of the day when it has seen it's new wings, it is still able. It learns how to use what is now a part of them. Progress never ends. Progress is life.
