The talking heads of politics and the convention seasons

Regardless of party affiliation, or candidate choice, opinion and news are being skewed during this primary season. My evidence of this comes in the current primary fight between Hilary and Obama. Obama has a lead in delegates and popular vote, but these positions have changed throughout the primary. I say this because neither one of them can obtain the required delegate count to be the nominee without either a brokered deal between the candidates from party elders, or round after round of floor fights during the conventions. There are also several factors up in the air that could have significant affects on both candidates such as the super delegates and the seating of delegates for both states which were at first denied delegates for braking charter rules. I write all of this because I am a very excitable person when it comes to politics, debate, and policy, but lately i have grown tired of the current state of media coverage on the primary season. Politics has never really been covered well, but at least before it wasn't in such a blatant way and the stakes were not as high. The media portrays Obama in a clear lead, and hilary in a down hill slide. They often leave out the details I listed above and do not look at things analytically but based off their own opinions. Now I have no favorite, for this election I am still looking at the candidates from a distance in order to base support on strong foundation as this will be the first election I am able to vote in. My problem now is that in a time when the policies of the candidates should be the argument, I am hearing candidates trying to bully each other using the press as a tool, making what credibility they have weaken before the general election has even begun. Most would question the value of these words since this seems to happen quite a bit over election seasons, but this election needs to be about the ideas, we must make it so. The media functions best in our government when it acts as public voice to police corruption that individuals can't, but it functions least when all we see are talking heads filled with hot air, since they all know that this will end the way it does at convention not through any actions now.
